Are you making a serious effort to improve your pool game? Practicing some tough shots?
While practicing, have you ever thought about, maybe, a video you may have seen of Efren, Earl, or Buddy Hall, etc.? How they have perfected their game?
Has it ever become more than just a thought? Did you ever visualize shooting a shot as if you were Buddy Hall, for instance?
I think this is okay. Not unusual. Probably normal. Common.
But I recommend against it.
Are you a child? A child does this. It is understandable.
Children have very limited experience.
What better way to attempt to control one's environment than to mimic someone else with more experience.
But it is certainly a form of losing one's focus.
After all, who is shooting the shot?
You are. It is your shot to shoot. It is your time and your place.
As tempting as it is, it could be detrimental to your game.
Our minds are powerful. But often uncontrollable.
When you "channel" someone, your mind is accommodating.
But it may also deliver more than you desire.
It may also associate aspects of your own subconscious along with the trip.
You may have effectively channeled something like a "soul," for instance.
So here you are: having channeled Buddy Hall's soul, practicing a shot you hope to master.
But a healthy subconscious has a survival mechanism that is designed to resist any intervention.
And you have unwittingly allowed your own subconscious to imbue your creation with this same mechanism.
So as you practice the shot, since the "you" has been subjugated by this Buddy Hall you've created, it resists.
It resists the shot.
But it is sneaky, just like you for having attempted such a misguided endeavor.
How sneaky. Only time can tell. But I think that any soul would resist being commandeered.
So, whenever that shot comes up, so will "Buddy Hall."
Watch out.
And Good luck with your shot.
Hah hah ahhh...
Happy Halloween...
