Chavez vs Crosby

I just noticed that they are going to be playing soon. I'm wondering what the betting line on this is? I haven't heard much about Crosby, other than I know he competes in a fair amount of tournaments. I've never heard of him gambling before. Chavez on the other hand, I hear about him all the time, gambling and doing well in tournaments. For those that know Crosby's game well, would you say this is a fair match?

On the front page of AzBilliards this morning, I noticed that Chavez won the tournament, with Louie Ulrich coming in second place.

Are you referring to an action match?

They played two sets earlier this year, maybe Tony is looking to get his $$ back.

Video

This publicity is for the pay-per-view at azbtv.com of the video of their match in April 2007. It was a race to 21 for $$. It is a great video with commentary by John Ditoro and Jorge Torres, with excellent camera-work by Torres also. It is really a great match, very exciting and close. Tony doesn't gamble much but he plays jam up. If you look at his finishes at various events, including the Florida Pro Tour, he always finishes very well. If they played again it would be even money.

Boy I'll tell you what, "Chavez" moves around like lightning. He was up in New Jersey for a spell, next thing you know he is in Georgia, and won a 8-Ball event w/ some of the strongest players out there.
WOW, thats strong.......

I'm surprised his picture is plastered on the front page of AzBilliards. From what I heard, he doesn't like to have his picture taken! :D

Are you going to Comet this weekend?

Nothing at all against Tony, but there is no chance for Tony in that match. I have been watching Chavez for the past year or two in New York & Jersey. This guy drums action anywhere there is a pooltable and a player.:)

He played "Hoppy" some, came out loser but, what a warrior. This dude plays real strong and at every game. Last pocket eight ball, forget it! Noone has a chance in that game. I seen him play some Dominican drug lords in Washington Hieghts(Dominican land), not only he busted all of them, we all went out dancing and they paid for it all..................  :p

Yes, I'm very suprised at that one Jenny???????

Oh! I'll be there with bells on. I havent seen Zug's in a minute. When we get together it's all laugh's and fun.

Sooooo, come on! Get that car gased up and make that short treck up to Jersey. No excuses this time. I will stake the "Old Man", I have no problem w/ that. We will have a great time, I'll even buy dinner Saturday night, "STEAK" common you can't refuse me again now, can you?

My brother flew out this morning to Reno, and I have no one to watch my Sammy dog.

We are eyeballing the Joss event in Providence, RI, coming up. New Jersey is en route to Providence, November 17-18. I just got hooked up with a TV show, though, which occurs on Sundays. So now I have to figure out how to get coverage. Let Hopkins know about this one in Providence, the Ocean State Championship.

They have a Joss event every single weekend from now to then, too!

STEAKIES! Yummy! :p

:( O'well, I guess I struck out again!

TV Show?????? What's that about?

I just talked to Allen last night. He know's about that Providence stop. He's home, but always in action(A.C.)

Well, I guess you can stop and pick me up in Jersey before the tourny. My house in right off the NewJersey Turnpike, very simple. That is if we still have those plans to attend by November, never no what can happen:( For some reason we can't get hooked up! Trying to figure out why?

Keith is gearing up to play pool for Louisville, and we need to get on the road soon. Truth be told, now I am flooded with pages. The TV show is contract work, and if I can't get coverage, I've got to do it myself. Believe me, when we hit the tournament trail, there's a seat in my Volvo that says "Reserved for Frankie White." :D

Make sure you give updates from the Comet tournament here on the forum. Inquiring minds want to know what's happening! :p

If so, we have to get together. I am going, already put vacation in. Big Boy Jeff is going w/ me also..........

I'll call Keith later, after work.........

I'll give you all the action you want on that match, you like Crosby??

Let's set this up, and post.........................
Dammit, Frankie, we can't both bet the same way!

Hey Guys
we played this match early in the year and as most of you know it was close. I tried to arrange a return match which didnt happen. Chavez is a good player with out doubt but he is also welcome back anytime for the return which I am going to work on. I also doubt I would lose again.
Thanks Tony Crosby

Hey! Tony, no offence myman. You play strong too. I just happen to like Chavez on the action side, just a lil somethin. I never met you, although ofcourse I know of you, I hang pretty tight w/ all the boys from New York in which you know and play with. So w/ that being said, I wish no harm in betting w/ the Mexican. Next tourny I will say hello.

Frankie..............

Tony, I just want to say you are pleasure to be around. I really enjoyed working that match on the TV table with you. And your game has improved steadily since you came over here. It's tough action with Chavez, but if you don't miss any balls you can get there. Keep your head down until the smoke clears!

A little tip from a friend. I know you like to gab when you are playing. That's okay to stay loose, but maintain your focus on the match. That's very important! Don't get too carried away with outside conversations, keep it to a minimum. A word or two once in a while is fine. You'll have lots of time to talk after the match is over. And celebrate too!
