Cheap Action is Better than No Action in Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas

I'll play 9 Ball or 10 Ball for $10 a game or One Pocket for $12.50 if anyone's interested in sharpening their skills in the DFW area. There's nothing like competition, and playing better players is always what did me the most good. (If only Bustemante, Efren or Rodney Morris lived in Dallas my game would be much, much sharper). ;)

Pool is one of the few games/sports I've seen where players are discouraged from getting better. I guess the team captains don't want their team averages to go up, however, isn't that what life's all about......improving and developing?

I would like to see Dallas/Ft. Worth have the greatest teams/players in the country and I'm willing to help anyone that's interested. www.thegameistheteacher.com

Enjoy your weekend everyone, my email is thegameistheteacher@gmail.com if anyone wants private or group instruction.....I have some specials going on and can work with anyone's budget that really wants to improve. Aloha

Shame I'm not in Texas really(my bank balance would say its a good job I'm not in Texas!). Just as good as a lesson when you play against a world class player...and for $10 a game!

If you ever visit the UK let me know. I'd happily hand over a few hundred for a couple games and a chat.

I agree, that sounds like a good deal.

Why fast games like 9 or 10 ball for $10.00 and the worlds slowest and most boring game one pocket for $12.50 ?

Hi CJ,

Tiger is going for at least a 59 on The Golf Channel. He needs to birdie 3 of the last 6 & it's a par 70.

Just thought you might want to know.

Best,
Rick

PS I'd love to play you for 10/game. But let me get my new found aspect O TOI grooved first. When will you be passing through New Orleans?

One Pocket's not "slow and boring" the way we play it, it's more like "Atomic One Pocket". ;)

I'm just trying to "break the ice" in Dallas, I heard there's a lot of guys that would like to play a better player cheap....so, I figured putting this out would be a good thing. I'll even give a handicap if needed, I just won't "give up the nuts" unless there's a bit more at stake.

I'll also spend 20 minutes afterward giving suggestions on specifically how you could improve {asap} and even beat me (unless you do, then I want suggestions from you )......I will assure you an experience worth far more than dollar amount. I just want to start a pool trend in DFW - I AM told playing more publicly, and doing free clinics is a good place to start. I still owe the Game another 18 months for teaching me how to get out of "pool purgatory". ;) 'The Game is our Teacher'

...unless you're chicken.

CJ, you should go to the (east side of Fort Worth) 24 hr Rusty's Billiards. The last time I was there, I couldn't get in the door good before someone was asking for an action game. Now that I see you live in the Dallas/FT worth area, you probably know all about Rusty's.

I played Orcollo a cheap set of 10 ball in Vegas. Best money ever spent! At least I won a game in a race to 7:)

Yes, I go there about once a week. I did give a guy 9/6 in there for $10 a game, and he seemed to enjoy it for 10 games.

I think people would like to match up with me, they're just under the impression that I only play for big money, and that keeps them from asking or bringing it up.

This day and age it would be nice if EVERYONE just played cheap instead of not playing at all. There's nothing wrong with playing for 10/20 I know golfers that play for those amounts every day on the golf course.....and some of them make a million+ a year.

One thing is, if I play with someone I will ALWAYS answer any questions they have after the session....my goal is to see everyone improve to the best of their ability. I can usually identify someone's weaknesses in a matter of minutes and direct them to what they need to work on, and how to practice for best results.

After all, I have the greatest teacher that shows me whatever I need, whenever I want it. There's one condition though, I must share what I learn and if I don't "use" it, I'll surely "lose it". ;) 'The Game is the Teacher'

Im going to beg for a trip to Dallas

Ill post a 100 games of one pocket if you ever make it to the Bay Area. After words ill play you for $500 10-6 to try to keep up. Jesse

it's about 50/50% right now.

CJ, will you be playing in the Texas Open this year?

I'm not sure yet....it's about 50/50% right now. I've started some serious training in the martial arts and may be teaching quite a bit later in the year. I'll keep up the pool teaching and playing through September, I plan on playing in the US OPEN this year.

The Texas Open has turned into a "crap shoot" with the magical rack, race to 9, winner break.....with top players, you may not get but one or two shots in a short race.

Cheap games are the norm here, as well. Hell, we had one the other day that went up to a hundred dollars and you'd have thought the circus was in town, there were so many onlookers. :)

Wish I lived in Texas, it'd be worth spending a few shekels to improve my game. Notice I didn't say gamble because the game would be too lopsided to be considered gambling.

But I really love your idea. It's great for the game in my opinion. It would be nice if any Jersey pros would pick up on the idea. Hint, hint.
