I'm sure a lot of people on here have seen this:

Seller says he'll honor an $800 buy it now. Seems like a very good deal on one these.

I've owned a pair of Cog. PJ's and sold them both for over $1200 each. Those coco Cog's. move the cue ball like a dream.

Just thought I'd share with everyone. Hope I didn't expose anyone's action.

there was an $800 buy it now and know one took it!! wow these cues are worth that all day long even if it had to be refinished. the tag line for Joe's cues wasn't "Precision Billiard Instruments" for nothing.

With 2 shafts that cue is worth $1,200 all day long, at $800 it's a steal. Roy at indyq last year had a few cogs like that for $1,100 with 1 shaft. I might be wrong but I think if you ordered an extra shaft it was $300 from Joe.

offer

i offerd to buy it if an escrow was used. i have not heard back yet.

with both shafts at 12.5mm and in need of a refinish,i would say $800 is the max it is worth.i have seen them go for in the 8's with full shafts.

i respectfully disagree. Joe's cues are some of THE most perfectly made cues i've seen. i spent over 3 years hanging around in his shop and watched every aspect of the making process and i don't think you'll find many makers who's attention to the details you can see as ones you can't are as maticulous as his. imo all Cog's, even ones that have 12.5 shafts needing a refinish are worth at least the $800 and imo more.

i said it was worth $800 and you said it was worth $800.what are you disagreeing with.just b/c you hung around the shop and think he makes great cues doesn't change the market value.do you think it is worth $800 or do you think it is worth $1000?i can't tell by your post.

your words: " i would say $800 is the max it is worth "

mine: " even ones that have 12.5 shafts needing a refinish are worth at least the $800 and imo more "

you're in essence saying $800 would be top dollar for this cue and i'm saying $800 would be on the bottom dollar end. your right about one thing for sure though, hanging out in a makers shop for all those years make not a knowledgeable cue market guru, but couple that with one who's acquired knowledge and many years experience in the process of cue making, collecting and the involvement with many top dealers and collectors can give someone a better than average insight. anyway you're entitled to your own opinion, it's your prerogative, i think of it like this, we wouldn't have such a volatile stock market without people thinking the way they do.

OOK.only thing i don't understand is why didn't you buy it.the seller said "buy it now foe $800 for the duration of the auction"?

here are a few just came in while on vacation

wrong thread sorry

I've owned both and felt that the cocobolo was better. It felt very solid and was nice and quiet. JMO
