priced too high for the market imo. i'd think around 1,600 to 1,800 is closer to market

If you buy it, you better deliver him your money and get the cue from him .
I smell fraud on this one.

Joey, I think I know who the seller is ... in process of finding it out now.

People really believe 4 point purpleheart Tad value is less than $2K???

cost on plain 4 point tad cue is atleast 2k.. so if purple heart is really that rare it is probably, errr..deffinatly worth more.. hope this is legit..somebody will get a nice cue..

J&J gets 1800.00 for a plain jane TAD-1 (no points at all). Maybe I'm not so smart, however I turned down 2K for my plain jane Tad-1 not once, but twice. It is my best playing cue. I would only consider trading up to another TAD providing it played equal/better than my present one. FWIW

Joey, I think the seller is "Action Bob" who owns a pool hall in Gilroy.

Jazz is right, the seller is Bob "Action Bob" Tapella who owns Garlic City Billiards in Gilroy, CA. As soon as I saw his eBay description and the location he registered under I emailed him to see if it was him (Bob). It was.

I've known Action Bob since he started Garlic City Billiards 14 years ago and I can assure you his auctions are no scam. He has befriended many cuemakers over the years and has rep'd Jensen cues, Tads & many others, & was the first to introduce Greg Hearn Cues to the bay area. I have bought 2 cues from Bob over the years and they were both as described and well worth the money. I highly recommend him.

As he mentioned in his eBay descriptions, he will be auctioning off many more of his cues inluding 3-cushion cues in the near future. (I think the Judd is sold).

I also want to thank this thread for getting me in touch with Bob after not talking to him for the past 6 years since I left California. If you get a chance, he's fun to talk to with his Italian/new york accent...forget about it:D if you know what I mean.

The cue appears to almost be a titlist conversion. I have a Titlist conversion with the exact order and color of veneers and also with Purple Heart points and butt.

The retail on this cue is $2800, he only makes about 4 of these per year if my source is reliable. Less than half of his cues are made for the USA market and my bet is that he won't be making cues very much longer.

"Action Bob" Tapella is owner/manager of Garlic City Billiards located in Gilroy, California. I play there a couple times per week and having known Bob for many years and can assure you there is nothing weird about what he sells. Bob doesn't deal with anything like that.

A former Pro Golf Course Superintendent, "Action Bob" is a fanatic about quality. His equipment is always meticulously clean. I have personally seen the Tad cue Action Bob is selling and its really a nice cue.

i don't think he makes very many cues anymore period. i was told that his actual hands on involvement in the making of Tad cues is and has been for a while now very very limited. i heard his son does most of the bull work and inlay work also. this, from what i can remember, has been the case since around 2001 or so. does anyone else have other info?
