R you implying that KEV "TRUDEAUED" the staff?
If they've been "TRUDEAUED" then they're stone cold idiots. It's beyond me why the ones that haven't been laid off continue to work there. After finding out KT's history and watching this payment debacle unfold, I would've jumped ship.

The staff might be getting paid now but how long is it going to last? I couldn't stick with a job that was so unstable you didn't know if it was going to be around tomorrow or not.

harsh crix

I heard KT's staff are the remaining 60%
of top cold callers of the infomercial industry.

I heard he got the voice of info time lady
a few multi-accent(country, regional, city) people and
one or two industry buffs(pool players).

Whats KTs skill, a pretty mouth, sorry dont count, irony Mike Sigel,
sure will help when your with Fatty McFatts up in C block.

I just can't help but think the 11% payment is some kind of move, the guy is just so sleazy.

I don't think it is. If you look at his behavior, it's becoming apparent to me that he will do anything to recoup his losses. This is desperation when bankruptcy would be more appropriate. I think he is still hopeful that the IPT can be sold to someone, a private investor or the public, so for $300K he buys a little more time to try to sell it and not lose the millions he's put into it.

It is becoming obvious that these people have fooled themselves more than anyone else. This thing is a tragedy and it's painful to watch.

Nothing is obvious. If it were then we wouldn't be having these discussions. We just don't know what is going on with the IPT, Natural Cures, Trustar, or any of Trudeua's cookie jars. That's the whole point. No one will know until Trudeau is forced to disclose that information or it is uncovered through more investigation than our group has produced to date. Even the fine work of Mrs. Romano has only left us with inconclusive items relating to the future of the IPT.

We truly have no way of knowing what Trudeau is into regarding this matter. Here is a "Kevin is Evil" speculation, he has the money, has had it all along, and wanted the players to feel the withdrawl pains whilst playing at the US Open and the World Championships, two tournaments put on by those not supportive of Trudeau's competing events. That "sounds" plausible, something that could be true given Trudeau's meglomaniacal tendencies. The point is we can't get inside his head.

For whatever reason he has issued checks and the only thing now is to decide what to do with them. I hope that the IPT players are united on their front. Perhaps they should just give the money to their lawyers to start the legal proceedings.

It is good to see some money flowing - let's hope the money is good.

That's what I was referring to. I said a while back I didn't think he wanted to file a bankruptcy. He may try to buy their way out of this as cheap as possible. Then continue to market what they have and continue the TV deals and sell the DVD's. If he bankrupts the company it would queer any deals he has With TV, at least for now I would think.

He wants the company to look healthy, at least on the surface. He can make money with what he has for years to come in one way or another, some he hasen't even thought of yet. I would be surprised if he paid the 100% but if he does it will be over a very extended time keeping the players at bay and chasing the carrot with the promise of future tournaments.

Actually, his losses are probably over, he now will start recouping and I doubt walk away with any loses at all, maybe make money. Pool is not a timely sport it is more of an exhibition sport. People just like to watch it played, it doesn't matter how old the matches are, they can be ten years old, if they are good players people will buy them. Kt will be marketing them for years.

Accu-Stats has made a living doing this from the start. You couldn't make much money selling old footage of football or baseball games, but pool is completely different. The actual play of the game and not who wins or loses is what the fans want to see. Most don't really care who wins, they just want to see good play.

This by the way, is why pool doesn't make it as a spectator sport. For a fan to get involved they have to care about the outcome. This never happens in pool, they just like to watch the game played, that's all and they will only watch for a given period of time before they get board, even fanatical fans have a short attention span.

Just go to any tournament and you see what I mean. Pool really has no chance on TV, people will watch for a short time and that's about it, they would rather play then watch. That's just my realistic observation from like 50 years of being around the game. I can't really imagine that changing.
Kevin really got sold a bill of goods by somebody for him to have started this thing in the first place.

I'd be drop dead shocked if the checks the players are receiving this week bounced. KEV's to smart to "TREDEAU" himself like that.

As TATE and MACGUY indicated he's bought time to try and save the project.

Nobody, probably including KEV, knows what his intentions are. He and his coach (DENO?) still havn't figured out whether to take stripes or solids.

All we know is he's at the table and we're in the chair...

Dear IPT player,

Once again the IPT would like to apologize for this delay in your prize payments for the World Open. We are working diligently to rectify the situation and appreciate your continued support and understanding during this temporary problem.

You will notice that the amount of your check is 11% of the total of what you won in the World Open. In a few weeks, on December 8, 2006, we will send at least another 11% and yet another installment of at least 11% on January 8, 2007. What that means is that by Jan. 8, 2007 a minimum of 33% of your prize money will have been paid. You will be paid the full amount of your winnings for the World Open collectively equaling $3 Million. During the next several weeks, the IPT will be working on other projects that could potentially increase the amount of these payments. We will be examining the financial situation weekly and communicating with you regularly regarding the financial situation. As the financial situation changes, we will inform you of the payment schedule moving forward. You will be paid in full before the next event.

Again, we apologize for this delay and payment structure of your prize winnings. The next several weeks are very important for many sponsorships and advertising projects that are being negotiated by the IPT. We would appreciate your support and encouragement during this time as we become focused on building a successful 2007 season and beyond.

Very truly yours,
Kevin Trudeau, Founder
International Pool Tour

Real Pool, Real Rules, Real Money
_______________________________

It seems there is a legal loophole here because there is no time frame as to when the remainder gets paid. He could essentially pay us $1/year for the rest of our lives. But if there is a bankruptcy, we wouldn't even be getting the third anyway. And if there is to be another event, there certainly has to be full payments first, well ahead of players booking their travel.

I thought we were getting paid weekly though?

He has a lot of nerve putting "Real Pool, Real Rules, REAL MONEY" at the bottom of this letter. He should be strung up for that one.

My feeling is that he is making partial payment now to keep the hounds away from his door. He would prefer not to have any civil suits, but once again, I believe KT's real fear is criminal charges being filed against him. That slammer can get mighty lonely on the those long cold winter nights.

Many judges would not look with favor on someone with TruDoughs prior criminal history. And I think he knows this too. My concern now for the players, is that they will indeed get the 33% over the course of the next three months, and then, still being owed 67% of their winnings, the stall will begin once again.

Effectively, Trudough will have managed to duck the law by paying a third of what he owes. He will have stalled for more time to raise money and perhaps gotten the players off his back. Many will tire of this long struggle to get paid, accept the 33% and go on with their lives. I think he is counting on this.

My advice is to keep the pressure on. I believe forums such as this work to the benefit of the players, letting Trudough and company know that the players are not going away, until they get paid in full! I would also advise them NOT to ever play in another event conducted by the IPT, regardless of what comes out of Trudoughs or Dumbos mouth.

Real Laws, Real Courts, Real Jail.

rackmsuckr...The letter contains conflicting remarks (forgive me if I have missed that same comment by another poster.

1. <<You will be paid the full amount of your winnings for the World Open collectively equaling $3 Million.>>

2. <<You will be paid in full before the next event.>>

As for #2...if there IS no next event, then the players would never be paid!

This letter was the "letter of conveyance" I started a thread on without having seen this thread...and with the obligatory advice about consulting your own lawyers...it seems to me to be virtually risk free to cash the checks so long as something like...PARTIAL PAYMENT, BALANCE DUE $X.00 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED is written on the back.

Good luck to all!

Regards,
Jim
