Same size playing surface as a 4½' x 9' American pool table -- 50" x 100" (1,270 mm x 2,540 mm).
Same 2¼" diameter balls as for American pool.
Tight, snooker-cut pockets.
Pretty much the same thing, aside from your table being larger by a foot. Rails have the same square cut as snooker, pocket openings look to be the same, although a bit larger than snooker since balls uses are the same as in normal pool games. I think even the cloth type is the same as on a snooker table.
You should be fairly close. Of course your table is a foot bigger, but other than that.
Chinese 8 ball tables use snooker style, nap cloth. They have snooker cut pockets (pro size) and pool size balls. The rails are also the same. It's a great table and a great game.

A description of pocket size, pockets are appx 1.5 times the size of the 2.25 diameter balls measured going straight into the pocket, that equals 3.375.
My brunswick snooker table has 3.5 at tightest part of pocket.
Pockets a bit larger, but table foot longer, close enough for me, I'm calling it chinese 8 ball.

The Chinese eight ball table I play on has 3.5 corner pockets and 4 inch sides.

Do Chinese pool tables have the vertical "flat" on the cushion, as opposed to American pool's "nose"? If so, how do they bank with 2.25" pool balls, as compared to say a GC?
Yeah, the cushions are flat faced.....they tend to bank shorter than pool rails..
...and they are less responsive to spin.
Yeah absolutely! Now that we have that settled. I have plenty of time to kill
and we would like to have a Chinese 8 ball tournament. At 128 in the field it will take a
year to finish and a month between rounds. I'm sure clean up will be hell from all the
beer drank and cigarettes smoked between rounds. Let's get started!
