First, I want to thank you all for very informative and interesting answers on my thread!
I have finally made a choice -- McDermott G-Series is about to become my first cue.
I decided to take one of the lower priced cues with G-shaft, since the only difference to a higher-priced cues of the G-Series are the optics and inlays. Hope, I'm right about that and won't regret this ))

get yourself a mezz and call it a day. heck i've even got one i'll give you for a good price. 4+ oz shaft and an extension for had to reach shots. if it's good enough for mika to snap off back to back us opens with it's good enough for you

i have a lower g-series mcd cue with a g-core shaft too, slightly modified on the joint -- it has an uni-loc.
is the quality of the butts good? i'm not quite satisfied with the performance of the cue, so i desided to upgrade. should i rather just buy a new shaft, or go for the whole cue??
hope u can help me out with this. i'm fine with the looks of the butt, but cant say, whether it's that good in performance. but the previouse owner did invest some money in the upgrade to uni-loc, so it must be a decent butt, right??

The McD's are fine but for the money I'd be looking at a Pechauer or a Jacoby. Either one would be a better cue than the McD in my opinion. I would also suggest maybe a custom. Try Kieth Josie. Give Sherry a call and see if you can make a deal. He ships internationally. His cues are absolutely amazing. You can get a basic sneaky for that with 2 shafts. Or a more ornate one with one shaft. I have a Bocote one he just finished. It is perfect. A solid but not too stiff hit. And Kieth will do whatever it takes to make you happy. That's a guaranty! Only downside is you gotta wait for it.
