Chris Reinhold Completes Team USA

Wrong, he was a millionaire throughout his career, the highest ever for tennis at the time. He had sponsors out the arse, including a huge deal with Dunlop tennis racquets, and many more during his playing days. He was the biggest name in tennis, hands down. He was the "bad boy" of tennis.

And his fortunes continued after he retired with being a highly paid commentator as well as still doing endorsement deals. Oh, sure, he calmed down after he retired, nobody said he was maniac off the court, only when he competed. Sound familiar ?

And how did the tennis world treat McEnroe. His net worth is over $100M today. Yeah, I bet he feels horrible that he blew up on the court, won more championships than anyone else, and earned more money than every pool player that ever played, COMBINED.
McEnroe didn’t have teammates. If Earl has a meltdown it could negatively affect the whole team. I have played on teams when a teammates blow up brought the whole team down. It was embarrassing to be associated with a teammate that acted like that. It made me feel very uncomfortable and affected my performance. I quit the best team in our area because of a teammates antics. I still think Earl can be one of the best on any given day. I truly hope that is the Earl that shows up. But he can also be an ass and that won’t help the team or team chemistry in any way. I hope that Earl stays home.

Yes, that is what most folks with 6 world championships, 5 US Open wins, and dozens, and dozens of other tournament wins around the world do, is find ways to lose, LOL I think he plays better when he's pissed off. He was pizzed at a Johnny Archer match in Lincoln in 2013, was barking when watching JA run 80 something balls, but then missed and Early ran 100 himself right after, and then closed it out for the win next time at the table. Personally, I think it pumps him up and gets the juices flowing. Doesn't always work because you can't control you opponent running out out on you or getting some nice rolls either ;)
PISSEDOFFEDNESS!!! Let's hope this works RJ, >>> LOL

Everyone knows this thread is about Chris, don’t they? There’s already a thread about Earl for y’all to argue in.😬
lol. And the haters could not wait to type in Earl's name again in another thread. They love to hate him and that's WHY he's on the MC team.

Wow, way to focus on what you want to focus on. You’re right, Earl is great for pool. Go USA! 😂😂😂

Oh, so is that your way of saying you were wrong about McEnroe, he was paid MILLIONS as the bad boy of tennis. But, by all means, we need Earl to act better or nobody is every gonna watch pool. Sorry, nobody is watching pool. But, I'll bet this is the best viewed MC in the last 10 years, lol

Man you’re a single-minded fellow. He didn’t make millions for being a pissy crybaby (or “bad boy”), he made millions for winning tournaments because he was the best. Apparently you’ve got a love of guys who act like asses, which is fine. But you’re trying to equate acting like an ass with being successful, and that might work for you in life, but some people don’t want the dramatics.

Chris is certainly talented, but I wonder why guys like Josh Roberts and Jesse Engel don't get a shot.

Also, I know Corey Deuel has struggled in the MC lately, but I feel like the team needs another veteran. I guess Earl will have to be paired with Shane most of the time because he probably doesn't respect the other 3 players.

This is a excellent post. Josh is a great player and a smart guy, I think he would have been a interesting/good choice as well-good for team chemistry.

Cory’s strong suit is NOT the Mcup. It just doesn’t bring out the best in him.

Congrats to everyone,

Best
Fatboy😀

Pretty sure Earl can only be paired with Shane once during the event. Looks like Skyler will have to partner up with The Pearl, eventually. 😬

Dude, make up your mind. Either acting like an "ass" is bad for the game or it's not. It is has NOT been bad for golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, football, whatever.

Why can folks act just like Earl, and in most cases 10 times worse, but still get paid millions, get sponsors, and are still welcomed in their respective sports? What makes pool so fuking special? You guys act like pool is some prim and proper sport, only played by the rich elitists with Ivy League graduate degrees, eating Grey Poupon and drinking with their pinkies out and closely watched by the Royal Family.

My gosh, step out of the Ivory Tower once in awhile, this is just pool, this is Ames Mister ;)

Really, now I have to go through the huge list of "bad boys" that had teammates as well. Give it a rest. The bad boys in single event or team events were not only welcomed back to their sports, they were paid huge gobs of money. More money that every pool player ever earned, combined. But, we are suppose to care that Earl is a highly emotional guy that "might go off". Who cares, its' pool. Not like he's going to shoot, stab, rape, or drown dogs, right? lol

The MC is an ENTERTAINMENT-driven EXHIBITION. As long as the teams are chosen the current way that's what it will always be. If you want it to be more about the pool you're going to have to go back to a points-based merit system. Have 4 players qualify on points and 1 capt's pick. There are enough big-table events now to support a MC points system. Will they do it? Who knows. People the MC is part pool, part WWF. Picture Earl as nothing more than a cue wielding Rick Flair flying down from the ropes. Its showbizzzzzz baby.

You want to build a team based on top performance and not just who got out the most with middling performances. I think the points should be based on a weighted average of your best finishes with a minimum number of ranking events to qualify.

Times are changing.
J.J. has been in the mix with ''the boyz'' and is NOT looking from the outside in at his choices.
We got Peyton Manning at the end of his career and got Great results.
Our Opponents I think will have their hands tied, and hopefully JJ has learned even more about team ''balance'' and control of the roaming cats.
Also, Earl will stir matter up, and that's good for the venue, per Matchroom interivew.
