I'd wait a year for one of those, that is a awesome cue!!!

Could you please explain what is awesome about this cue.

It appears to be a nice cue, and I happen to like the looks of it, but awesome?

I see a lot of people make comments like these all the time about some basic cues, and I just don't get it. If I make the same exact cue, would it still be awesome?

Dude,
Some people like myself, Fatboy and others like pj's. I guess you just like fancy stuff
Actually I do not even like very fancy cues. It is like... I like Ferrari and you like Honda's.

I think waht Fatboy was saying was the design was simple, well executed, and the ringwork was just enough to give it a little somthing. Very tastefully done cue IMO.

Actually, I like simple cues, I just wouldn't classify them as awesome. I can appreciate all types of cues, and I know it's all just opinion, but I read an awful lot about simple, awesome cues, that most cuemakers can build. What makes them awesome?

Right off the bat...you just do not see all that many ebony full splices (sneaky pete type)....ebony is getting VERY expensive, and many makers are beginning to reserve it for their higher end cues.

I have owned fancy cues in the past....but in the last couple of years, I come to have a love affair with the full splice cue...both with veneers and without. A lot of work goes into these cues, not to mention the waste in materials....these cues are terribly under-appreciated by many.

I know for some, this type of cue....especially when very well crafted...harkens us back to a day when we all first picked up a barstick and approached the table the first time.....at which point the hook was pretty much set! :banghead:

Lastly....ebony into maple just plain looks good!! Perhaps not as good as Brazilian does, but I would guess it comes in a very close second!!! :smile2:
