CJ Opens Champion's Way Billiard Teaching/Training Facility in Ft. Worth Texas

gambling around the country it's mostly between players that know each other.

Grand and Olive disappeared decades ago. When I was younger back in 1963 I would skip school and go there. Man, what a class place. I miss it.

I would also like to add that it would be an honor to be instructed by a world class player. Can you imagine, a world class player like CJ looking you straight in the eye balls and showing you "this is how you do it". Back when I was learning everything was a secret.

Man, young folks today are missing one heck of an opportunity by not visiting Dallas for a few days.

It was all pool and gambling back then.

Take care LL

John

You're right, John, if I taught the Touch of Inside technique in the 80s I would have had several players mad at me, not to mention the other techniques and I even teach people about matching up and how to do proposition bets. This was considered "taboo" for Road Players to "wise people up" in those days.

That day is long gone, although there is still gambling around the country it's mostly between players that know each other.

Several players I teach wish to remain anonymous and do quite a bit of gambling. I can't say I blame them and I do keep things to myself. It took me 15 years before I even started talking about the Earl Stickland Million Dollar Challenge lawsuit. It came out very positive for both of us, just didn't see any reasons to disclose something that was confidential at the time.

Now I'm free to talk about it and even do a documentary. ;)

Soon, very soon....

Lock,

where in E. St. Louis did you play? I grew up there

John,
I thought you might want some free lessons from me! I played in a couple of other places up there. I also played in East St Louis, Ill. Across the river. I use to come thru there often when the money was good up there. Have you ever played over by Alton, IL? Take care John.
Many Regards,

BryanB,
I am trying to think of the place right now since you asked me about it. I played all thru that area. Some of the places are long gone now. It was not a big pool hall. It had a couple of tables at the time. And a bar. A small place it was. If I remember the name I will let you know. At the time I was playing in a lot of places every weekend.
Many Regards,

Well.....that could be. Those of us that are becoming aged can think a good game but cant perform historically.

I am in the historically class

I like Cliff. Nice guy

John

Cliff is a nice guy. he played Richie Richeson a couple of weeks ago. He plays good too. I heard you play a good game of one pocket as well!

That was the beginning and the end of my 3Ball experience. And by the way .........

Lock,

where in E. St. Louis did you play? I grew up there

I played in St. Louis quite a bit when I was 16-18 with guys like Gary Lutman, Tom Ferry, Bill Berry, Rusty Brandimier, Ricky, Terry, St. Louie Louie, etc. at the pool rooms like the OK Corral, and the SportsCenter, Cue and Cushion and the Forestell Truck Stop.

One night I went to East St. Louis to Granite City where they played in a little bar and the game of choice was "3 Ball". I had never played 3Ball before and sure enough when I walked in the bar that's what they were playing. In 3Ball you break and see how many shots it takes to make all 3 Balls and the player with the least strokes wins.

I played a couple of games and we all tied, then I broke the balls and make ALL 3 BALLS like a "trick shot". The players all looked at one another and quit at the same time, hanging their cues back on the wall. That was the beginning and the end of my 3Ball experience. And by the way "I just got lucky". ;)

I just started watching Ultimate Pool Secrets and there is some solid good material here. Going to the training facility and getting a 1 on 1 lesson with CJ would be well worth the trip for any advanced players who are stuck at their level.

.I actually go over 53 topics all together in those 3 Videos

There's a LOT of information in the 'Ultimate Pool Secrets'.....I actually go over 53 topics all together in those 3 Videos. The Ultimate Aiming System was produced in 97 and still holds up to today's scrutiny in the Forum's "aiming section".

Let me know if you need any clarification on anything at thegameistheteacher@gmail.com

Play Well,

CJ

I'm very interested in matching up with any of your gambling students in Dallas, tell them they got action from me.
Very curious to see if TOI is the real thing for amateur players.
You can PM their contact info.

Well CJ, here on AZ Billiards, you've shown us the patience of JOB and that's not the pool room in Nashville, TN. It's the guy in the bible who was tested many times, yet he maintained his composure.

When patience and tolerance is combined with experience and intelligence it produces wisdom.

I'm sure anyone would improve their pool game under your tutelage.

ALL my lessons are confidential unless I"m given specific permission to disclose.....

I don't believe any of my students actually live in Dallas. 99% of my students are from out of Texas, although I have a couple now in Ft. Worth, but they're happy playing leagues and not interested in gambling.

One of these days I may teach students from Dallas, however, sometimes there's a stigma about people learning from players in their home town (confidentiality issues). I will state this for the record, ALL my lessons are confidential unless I'm given specific permission to disclose a particular student's name.

This is important to players that like to gamble because obviously they're making an investment coming to me and want to make at least a multiple of their money back as a return on investment along with improvement.

They certainly can't do that if they get "knocked" and their regular gambling games all of a sudden get "uneasy" with the Game. I also train players on how to match up and how much value "weight" has and at the higher levels I disclose a series of "proposition bet" shots that are impressive.

Since I don't gamble much anymore I don't mind sharing everything I've learned over the years from some of the greatest "road men" around.

This sounds good! What do you mean by "how to match up" and "weight"?

We have a new facility to do private lessons and training in between Dallas and Ft. Worth Texas.

Could you give us a little more info on this "facility"? Is it a pool hall or a special room set up for some one-on-one instruction?

Where is it exactly (or an approximation would be nice)? "In between Dallas and Ft. Worth Texas" is a little too vague.

It's a private set up designed for lessons and steaming video seminars. I've been doing some lessons lately, but mostly out of state people coming in DFW. The location is in the Mid Cities on the FT. Worth side of DFW. It's only about 15 minutes from the DFW Airport.....I just had someone fly in from Southern Louisiana, so I have to get ready for a 4PM that will last until 10PM.

Maybe he'll allow me to disclose his identity and even give a video of some of his lesson. These things are entirely up to the individual, like I've stated, any interactions with me are completely confidential when it comes to training.

I've found that doing 3-5 hour sessions is the best, and 6 hours is a bit too long. I did 12 hours in two days with a player from North Carolina and I think it was too much for him. Everyone needs time to process this intense information, like eating food, it's better in digestible portions. 'The Game is the Teacher'

I agree with the shorter sessions CJ. I did the three hour sessions which were just about right for me. You taught me in a very systematic & methodical approach, giving me additional information when I was ready for it. After a few days at home digesting everything that you taught me, it kind of fell into place. I began seeing how to create the angles, and how to employ these created angles into the 3 part pocket system.

Just from the last session that we had I can see a noticable improvement in my game. Absolutely Amazing.

Telling it like it is! Putting it where you can get it! That is great! The game is the teacher. Mr. CJ is the teacher of the game. Keep up the good pool work!
