CJ Wiley VS Efren Reyes - June 19, 2018

I've played Efren many times ... I played him for $20,000 in Seattle at an all Filipino Pool Room for 14 straight hours. I missed 6 balls the entire time and came out 1 game behind (this match was witnessed by a room full of people and he actually out broke me because I was knocking object balls off the table when I hit them hard) , we ( I was with Tommy Rey from Dallas) won the money because I was getting 3 on the wire to 22. No rematch was ever discussed. ...
..........

That pool room that was across the parking lot from CJ's Billiard Palace was called Champs they had some big tournaments there too.
I thought CJ took Champs and turned it into the Palace. So they were two separate spots? For some reason i always thought he had two places at one time.

Yes across the parking lot. He had Pool Hall and a Sports Bar/Restaurant. I believe the Sports Bar/ Restaurant allowed him to retire early.

He did take Champs and turn it into CJ's Billiard Palace, Champs was in a smaller location at 1st across the street.

He also had a super high end sports bar called Carson's Live it was located in far N Dallas area, that place was a gold mine for him.

CJ in Memphis

CJ got his a$$ handed to him in Memphis. He lost all his money, a Balabushka and Gus Szamboti, and was sent packing.

The Bushka and Gus are still in Memphis, I dont know where CJ is at...

Im going to be in Dallas area on vacation, any chance of seeing this? Tickets still available?

I already had heard the story before I asked CJ, so I wanted to see what he would say about it. Like most pro pool players, they remember the wins and downplay the losses.

The other interesting thing I learned is there are alot of great players, that nobody have heard of, some are quite capable of beating almost anyone.

Will there be a stream ???

Does anyone know if there will be a stream of this? PPV? These are my favorite players.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks.

Got to see Efren at Griff's in Las Vegas recently … great stuff. Even though this forum, for the most part, was very anti CJ I've always liked him. I used to applaud his alligator skin for taking all the abuse but he finally had enough and left. So a bunch of trolls chased off a pro who regularly contributed to the forum. Sad, just my view.

Tried to give you a greenie...Well said!

OK it’s June 19.

I’m hoping for a link to this match.

I watched some of the JJ -Efren match and it was good. I haven’t seen C.J. in years. I like the way he plays.

Seriously? Rob, much?

This is Efren's retirement tour. I very much doubt there is much if any real money at all in play in any of these exhibition matches. I watched the entire match against JJ, and when Efren failed to win his 5th game in the 8 ball after JJ ran down to 1 ball and missed, that was enough for me to swear off betting on any of these matches.. For the record, Efren attempted a crazy back cut on the only ball he could see, even though he could have had a much easier win by kicking at one of 3 different other balls which would have 100% hooked JJ on his final ball.

These matches are for pure entertainment.

yes let the man go in peace....:)

pro wrestling is predetermined yet there are big bets going on it all the time , a golf buddy of mine used to bet thousands on matches , MC is entertainment also yes one team is getting paid more but they are both being paid ,, no way is either player laying down here maybe taking some fliers they might not take but neither is not trying to win
