CJ Wiley vs Jeremy Jones Up Next - Ultimate 10 - Mon 530pm est

gee ...isnt it funny none of the JJ knob slobbers are commenting on the JJ/SVB match...wonder why??
CJ played great for his first big tournament in a while. 3 break and runs, which also hasnt been mentioned. Give the guy a break as you type on a keyboard from the luxury of your own world. JJ cant even win on the little local tour we have down here. Omega Billiard Tour..

Crushed, as expected. I do want to see SVB vs Kiamco. Kiamco can't break for his life, but he runs out well and actually beat SVB in the past.

I don't think anyone was dissing CJ. It was just surprising to see him give up mentally. He may have had a bad practice off camera, I guess. His first miss, he struck his cue on the table. I thought everything was going fine until that point. He definitely could have won the match if he didn't lose his mental game. It wouldn't have been pretty, but I am pretty sure he could have won. (He would have lost to SVB as JJ did). He did recover a bit, but never fully settled from that. Perhaps his own standards were too high, for himself. Who knows. All I know is that I could feel the negativity he was projecting, and that is definitely not good.

I guess more tournaments would prepare you for that, but I would have figured his life experiences would have allowed him to settle his mental game in the heat of the moment.

Support.

So how did the CJ vs Mills match go?

I think CJ came to Tunica to support the event. I know for a fact that he hasn't been in competition in quite a while. It kills me that forum railbirds just love to entertain their fellow railbirds at the expense of a former World Champion, That came to Tunica hoping to dig down deep and play well.

I know how CJ feels, As I am not a former World Champ like him. But I have played at a very high level. No matter how hard he played, it hurts and emotion shows when you know you have missed a shot or position, that you know you would have never missed.

As far as what CJ teaches, He is highly qualified at what he teaches. That is what is so unique about our sport. Not playing and practicing even effects Champions. Continue to believe in what CJ teaches, if you want to learn from a proven Tournament and Cash player. I have played CJ many times for the cash, and he is 1 bad man.

He may get a little upset at himself and play much stronger, For those that don't have one , It is called heart ! Get Em CJ ! Gary

Nahhhh

someone said in the chat cj plays in tourneys in texas often?

CJ hasn't taken pool seriously in many years, he may play a little in some small events, those are tough to win even if you are playing. A lot of the young players have no clue ? He was and still could be the real deal. That is tough, not much cash in it. Although these are very good events in Tunica, If you can finish high. Gary

Well, I'm not. CJ was my favorite for the match. No side action, but I was hoping he would nail JJ to the wall.

Some of us step out from behind the keyboard (regularly) and know what it's like to step into the box against champions that are in action all the time, and we take our lumps.

Not all here -- some (many) just sit on the rail and chirp, loudly and often, but you never see them getting into anything anywhere.

But there are a few here that meet your criteria. Just not all of us ;-)

Many of us know how he feels.

Not so many of us pontificate here like we are the second coming. Here's a new slogan for CJ:

"Ultimate 10Ball is the Teacher"

Some call it analyzing what went wrong so that they can correct it, or learn from others mistakes. That group tends to get better at the game. Others call it making excuses and don't want to hear about it at all. That group tends to stay at the same level they are at. Some like to learn, some don't. You are free to be in whichever category you want to be in.

Neil you are being a little harsh on CJ, so what he lost the match, i think he is still at looser side; who knows might pull some good wins from there. Luck is big factor no one can control it. Best of luck CJ i really hope you win it all.

The above quote in your post was not directed to CJ, and, he was knocked out yesterday.

Why don't you jump up there and play him some then ?

I disagree. I also think that CJ did not finish the sentence. "The game is the teacher" and it shall not spare the rod while you are learning. This applies to everyone without exception and the lessons never end.

I think CJ offered lou something like the last 4 playing ten ball and lou said no thanks I only bunt balls up table playing one pocket or something to that effect.

I have seen CJ at the Texas Open the past 2 or 3 years but that is the only tournament he has played in Texas that I am aware of.

i never played at your level, or CJ's that goes without saying, but i have paid my dues and played my hardest for years. and I do believe that the emotional rolly coaster is similar for everyone who has put years into pool and that has heart. weather its you, me, CJ or anyone else. That's a hard pill to swallow when you dont play like yo know you can and win like you know you should. at all levels-if someone has paid their dues, not someone who played for 2 years.

hmmm, let me think, let me think... Because he is/was a pro and I've always been a recreational player who did other things in his life beside play pool.

I play pool nowadays to relax and have a good time. Besides, I can't see well anymore. Haven't played a rotation games in years. SoI just bunt the balls around and try and play a little 1pocket nowadays.

Yeah, really. Anyone who gets in and competes is going to go through the same. All these sympathy cards for CJ are kinda funny.

playing good at home is one thing, being in action, tourny tuff, is another thing. sometimes it takes a while to get the fight out of the gym and into the ring. thats why its called ring rust. one race to 10 alt break dont mean anything. no matter if he gave up or gave it his all, its just not enough for anyone to get the fight back again. win or lose

Fatboy -

If he won would it have meant something?

My point for all who are saying "short race" and everything else, I am saying, CJ lost.

Give JJ his due, he won.

Saying it doesn't mean anything, is wrong.
