Cleavage!!

Now that I got your attention I really want to talk about.. well, cleavage. I know there are women on here, so lets get some different opinions from all sides.

We all know the pool stance, bend over, stick out your butt, and so on. When a woman wearing a lower cut outfit does that, there is also some other things that stick out (_)(_) :D ;) . Now, at first I felt a bit embarassed by looking because it seemed rude, even if I was really just watching her shoot (say if you were playing against her in a tournament or league). But after seeing a few girls come into the pool hall with those things hanging out even before bending over at the table I realized that, hey, they want to be looked at.

Is that the case? Men, do you think that women who play pool while wearing revealing or semi-revealing outfits do so with full knowledge of what will show? And the girls on here, when you go to play, do you pick out an outfit based on what may or may not show? And if you pick something out that shows off some skin, do you expect us guys to look and that we should not feel guilty about it?

I do remember you as being quite a gentlemen around the ladies in the past, seriously.

In all honesty, I do feel a little guilty if I get caught looking, but I try not to get caught looking in the first place.

If I do get caught, I try to reduce or eliminate any more "taking in of the scenery". Well, I try...

I suspect most ladies, who know they will be playing pool, and still wear revealing clothing, to treat glances
OK, but stares as offensive.

Here is what happens when they were the low cut...

I am farily certain...(even if they don't want to admit it) that the guys try to win every game and make sure it is not a rack your own match...

Its even better if it is a table that is tough to get a good rack on.

:D

Like I told a lady that asked me what I was looking at on the NY subway many moons ago when the micro-mini was the in-thing, I said, "If you didn't want anybody to look you wouldn't be wearing a dress that ends a foot and a half above your knee". Case closed. Johnnyt

Use the skills we all honed to perfection in high school- look out of the extreme corner of your eyes.

We have one gal in our area that wears low cut shirts so they are on full display when she is at league. Most women wear T-shirts or other outfits that keep things covered. Most leagues now have rules against cleavage or bellies showing in regional or national event

It isn't too hard to enjoy the view without being rude.

that's old school

These days, times changed, and I remember reading about a guy busted on the subway for a webcam in his shoe!

You'd think he'd be more careful than just watching on his laptop. I got a laugh out if it though. :)

I did not mean the post to be "lets all look at the girls" it was a real question about how ladies present themselves in the pool room while playing. My take is that they know what shows when playing pool, and if wearing something low cut, us men should not feel guilty if we see something feminine, which is how I used to feel. Was looking for some feedback from folks, especially the women on here.

i can't believe this is even a thread to be honest as your answer seems quite obvious, but as a woman, will respond. there is no doubt in my mind that women know exactly what they are doing when going into a poolroom with low cut or high cut shirts (if they are players) - for me, i am very aware of whether or not my chest will show when leaning down to take a shot. the only exception i can think of is if a girl that does not play is out on a date, etc. they want to look good for their date and they do not think in advance of the playability of their attire.

If I am in a position to get a good look I will. I don't follow them around or try to get into a position to do it. If they say anything then I just tell them that they should be ashamed of themselves by teasing us dirty old men and give them a ;). Sometimes when they have tattoos I will even look and ask about them. I don't ask in a degrading manner and most of the times I get a good conversation going with them. I always lay it on the line that I am just a harmless dirty old man just being friendly. I guess I really don't have to tell them that because they can see it.

good answer.

favorite T-shirt:

Get your boobs
out of my eyes

I dont have a problem with that. I'll just return the favor to them ladies by having my shirt left half open in the middle, exposing my chest. that would break us even , looking at each other's wonderful view.

dunno if some of you tried to tell a woman stranger , what nice pair she has. I guess I'm lucky not to get slapped on the face and called a pervert.

and the moral of the story, don't wear something revealing if you dont expect people to take notice of those exposed parts. it doesn't give justice to the attire's purpose.

Did it never crossed your mind that it may be a form of sharking? :D

You are 100% right. My personal favorite is the girls that choose a short skirt for league night. Yeah, that's practical. Any girl who has played pool more than once knows what's visible in certain attire on a pool table. And if she is there to cause a stir, then she will wear "flashy" tops or bottoms. But I think you will find that most serious players will not.

As for the question, if someone dresses themselves in a way that shows some skin, why should anyone not be able to look? By all means, it's your right.

some of each

I have seen women playing pool in "date-clothes" shooting from the hip in order to keep from bending over. They clearly weren't thinking about this when they got dressed.

I have seen two different women playing pool (strait knees and chin to the cue) in short skirts and no underwear at all. In both cases they were with a man and giggling the whole time about something.:D They clearly were thinking about this when they got dressed. Oh, how I miss them.

On Display

My feeling has always been that if it is put On Display, it is there to be looked at.
Now, if I was playing and someone who looked like this was playing and revealing as much as she is, I would not be staring at her. I would be taking pictures. I would be like the guy who took this picture. ?Lets save this moment for posterity.?
Shanelle2.jpg

For anyone who does not know, that is Shanelle Lorraine from Guam. Even though she seems to be living in Florida now.

Overheard conversation:
"Doesn't it bother you, the way men stare when you walk into a room?"
"Honey, what would bother me is if men DIDN'T stare when I walked in."

As a woman, I will agree that we women know exactly what we are doing in our presentation. We also make sure to let each other know just what we think about their decisions.

As for any moments of confusion or guilt: if she's making a stir, you're supposed to notice while not being a pig.

If she's a real poolplayer, dressed suggestively, it's twice as intentional and you should concentrate harder on the pool.
