As you guys know I bought a Pat Diviney cue a while back and love it.Recently,a few weeks now,it picked up a "click" upon contact with the cueball.Fwiw the wife says the cue was dropped, but I'm not sure.I do know I shot with it for weeks before it ever started clicking.
Its not there all the time, maybe 50% or so and it sounds about like the kind of slight high pitched "click" you may get when the ferrel catches the cue ball when shooting very low draw shots if that helps you get the idea....
or maybe a better discription would be:Its very much,if not exactly, the sound you ferrel makes after its cracked, but you don't know it yet.
Thing is...I can't find a dam thing wrong with it upon inspection.Nobody else can either for that matter....But everyone can hear it...(though not every time)
So I ask...what the hell can it be?Ferrel busted under the tip?
I called Pat about it and I'll be shipping it back after the holidays to have the tip and ferrel replaced and a very fair price.(Great guy to talk to btw)..but he said he'd only seen it once before and he never quite got to the bottom of it....he just knew a new tip and ferrel fixed it on that cue after a new tip alone did not.
I'm not asking so I'll know how to fix it,I'll let the man himself do that, but I am curious about what you guys have seen in the past.It looks to be in great shape from the outside, but sounds like it must be busted half the time.
Thoughts?
