Cliff Joyner looking for sponsors

No hard feelings Slo Mo. Not my style. I tend to voice an opinion on occasion with no long term affects intended.

Like I say, it's always good at the end of the day.

thats right, at the end of the day were always good and on the same team.

Hey Cliff.
You travel the country, And I know you were a friend of Mike Surbers.Check out the website below. If you can find a lead on this guy who killed Mike, there's a 10k reward.
I can't travel much anymore, but you might be able to spot this guy.
Good luck and thanks in advance.

Im in.........

Ok , Im in for $ 100 . We are even now Cliff, Just kidding. Give it a shot, Imagine going to the Southern Classic and actually having a horse to root for. It would make for a lot more fun and the possibilities are good you could make a little cash.
I have played Cliff for many years and at 64 or 65 years of age no one plays harder. So, Contact Cliff, Share a room, Pay the entries, A little walking around cash, and when he gets paid , Go with him to pick up the check and maybe buy him a nice lunch or dinner . Now both of you will thank each other and the sponsor has just got to get to know and hang out all week with one of the great players of all time.
I bet Cliff will even sign some autographs for you also, Maybe introduce you to some of the other pro's. Im not sure about that age either, Pool is a rough living. JK Cliff!
Get a friend or 2 and take a chance, Cliff is a Monster player, Still.

Good luck Cliff,
Gary Lutman

I almost forgot .................

Do you and some of your friends like to play 1 Pocket ? What about the nights Cliff may spend a little with your group teaching you guys some tricks to 1 pocket.
Cliff has the style of 1 Pocket that is the most fun to watch, He can bank as good as anyone and his shot selection will have you thinking, I didn't see that. Every game. He can and will shoot shots other players wouldn't. And if they are going in you will be at the ticket window. He has done it to me , Considering I get 10-5, I still can't believe his shot making ability. And Yes, I am a friend and fan of Cliffs . Just wondering which Bonus Ball team forgot him ? Oh well, Im sure he will be on a team in the near future. I am excited about Bonus Ball . I sure hope it takes off, Support it, What if Vegas would get interested enough to give Pool another chance and start making lines on it ?
Just imagine, Anything is possible. How about this , Start drug testing where no other sport has offered to do this, This would help get some attention. Positive publicity for the game of pool.
Sorry , Got off the subject, Round up a couple friends and be 50% owner of a champion horse at the Southern Classic
Good Luck

Cmon man, that's uncalled for. We all loved Mike, but to say that there is a 10k reward if you can spot this guy is not cool at all.

This man is trying to make a living. I pray that if you ever need money or anything someone doesn't hand you a reward sheet and say you might run into this person for a reward.

Just A Novel Idea

With due respect for Mr Joyner (whom I have never met), maybe he needs to get a Job (or a better job) to fulfill his ambitions.

This is the only sport that I have been in where people are always putting the bite on people, (I'll get him next game, he's ripe for the picking now, and on it goes).

If some of you want to donate to Mr Joyner and it makes you feel good then you go right ahead.

I will donate my money to good causes in my community.

Mr Joyner. Good luck in securing the funds needed to enjoy your passion.

Don

Sponsor or Bite ?

Do you have any clue what its like going from tournament to tournament trying to make a living at what you are, A world class player ?? I don't think so. I have been there and done that, If you had your comment to me is foolish and near sighted.
Other pro players have sponsors, in pool and other sports. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.
I think Cliff is looking for a Sponsor, Stakehorse, or whatever you want to call it, Therefore if he plays well it is a 50-50 split after expenses.
This is not a bite. Playing pool for a living makes tough , thick skinned people who could never be content not following their dream .
Now a description of a bite. A bite is after a player comes and plays the best players in the world and spends 10 days playing hard and unfortunately doesn't cash, But gave it his all. He may at this point need money to get home or to the next tournament. Some may ca,ll this a bite. I have been bit by Cliff and Louis. Playing for a living is brutal. Don't knock it till you try it. Were a different breed.
Cliff Joyner is looking for a sponsor...........
Sincerely,
Gary Lutman

Best of luck to you, Cliff. Ignore the mean-spirited posts on this forum. I realize it is supposed to be a pool-related forum, but this is no place for pro players or those who play pool full-time. Too much negativity here. As you will see, most pro players do *not* post here, or if they do, it is very rare. In fact, some pro players have asked to have their names removed from this forum after they read a few posts here and saw how pro players were treated.

In America, pool is cruel to its own. League action is where it's at, unfortunationaly for professional pool.

I hope you get staked, but this forum, sad to say, is not a welcoming place for this or for any pro player's words of wisdom even. :(

This is so true J. The keyboard cowboys have no clue how hard it is out here and many here have zero tact.

To all the posters with the smart remarks and those who would appoint themselves to speak for other forum members..........

****In case no one noticed....Cliff didn't ask for a hand out here. He asked for a sponsor or stake horse. Cliff works his ass off to bring us some of the best pool you will ever see. You are guaranteed to see something special when you sweat Cliff's games. PLUS I will promote your offering or company for anyone that is willing to put up $500 min. for Cliff's trip. That would go in the action room for the entire Southern Classic.

So.....if you wanna simply ship Cliff a Hundy cause you want to? Do it. If you wanna percentage based on your involvement, ask for that. If you wanna fly Cliff in on your Leer and put him up for the entertainment, Do that. Just don't come on here and be a buzz kill for a squeaky wheel.

I happen to know for a fact that Cliff Joyner has a work ethic that most pool players should model themselves after. He's also a great father to his children and a role model for how to behave in a pool tournament.

Regards,

Ray

I met and talked to Cliff as my wife and I were leaving Tunica last July. He didn't know me from Adam but was polite and a pleasure to talk to as are most of the pro pool players. I hope he finds a sponsor and does well in the tournament.

I never met Cliff Joyner . . .

But I don't feel like I had to in order to make the following factual statement about him:

If Cliff Joyner possessed anywhere near the same amount of skill and talent in golf, for instance, that he does in pool, he would never have to ask anyone for a thing.

But, alas, he's a pool player. And a very enjoyable one to watch.

Best of luck in all of your future matches, Cliff. :)

best,
brian kc

You'll get your moneys worth........

And have some fun watching and sweating the games with one of the icons in the business.

Some players out there go to a tournament and play and then go home.

From what I see from Cliff is a dedication that is unsurpassed by no player on the planet.

He will come to the tourny and be ready. he's not one of those guys out there that will get a stake horse knowing he doesn't have a shot because he hasn't hit a ball for 3 weeks.

This guy can play.

This is a chance for a player somewhere that has lots of cash to have some fun in get involved with one of the main warriors in the business.

This guy is always in the trenches playing everyone he can. 24/7

What's really cool is Cliff is a pretty nice guy also.

I'd feel pretty comfortable taking him to my mothers for dinner.

I sure someone will step up to the plate here if they already havn't.

Good luck there Mr Cliff Joyner.

You have my utmost respect SIR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

lol, kudos to Cliff for asking for money on here. I know of at least 10 people he owes money to right now and that's just people in my phone that I talk to often. He "borrowed" some from me about 13-14 years ago when I owned a pool room, but it's been so long that I can't remember the figure. Whatever the figure, that's my contribution.

Please send me a receipt so I can write it off on my taxes this year.

Here's an oldie from the AZ MS Paint archives. And before you rip this post apart JAM, I'm not looking for an internet fight, just stating what everyone else on here is thinking and I'm entitled to my opinion based on personal dealings and witnessing.

Your loan application must be pretty easy. Giving money to a Professional Pool player and calling it a loan is real close to loaning money to unemployed homeless. You are only kidding yourself.

I know you like to bash Cliff about not paying you back, but do you have any ideas that might get Pool on the right track? A path that they can support their families and pay their bills.

Ray

Sponsor wanted

Well said Geno. Someone that knows, You want to go after the true crooks. Drive to your local Courthouse. Better yet, The White House. Cliffs a real bad guy.

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ray,
If I had a solution or one that I thought would be good for players without bankrupting me or whomever started it, I would certainly propose it. Unfortunately I don't think it exists.

He has your utmost respect, he is looking for some sponsorship.

With all the times you post about your system on here Gene, how about shipping $50 or $100 to him seeing as you respect him so much.

Well Tom. Mike was one of my best friends since he was 16yrs old. If I could travel , I would be out looking for this punk. Cliff knew Mike well, and I felt this was a great opportunity to remind everyone that this killer is still out there, and that most people dont know that there is a 10k reward. I'm sure Cliff didn't mind the post.
I wish Cliff all the best. If the post bothered you, well, thats your problem. I would hope that if someone killed your best friend, you would do all you can to catch the coward.
Every post I make has a link to Americas Most Wanted vid and to the Justice for Mike Surber website.
