Hi everyone,
I am wanting to attend a National event , but like alot of people, job,family and money prevents me from traveling too far.
Are there any events close to the western part of N ,Carolina ?
 
The Carolina Amateur tour has an event in Winston Salem on March 26, Greensboro on April 23, and May 14th in Charlotte. There is also a South Eastern Open event in Sevierville, TN on Apr 1-2. All these and more can be found in the AZ Billiards tours and tournaments section. If I'm not mistaken, Randolphs in Hickory has a good weekly tournament every Sunday. Also, Time Out in Kernersville has a great bar table tournament every couple of months. Hope I could be of some help. Maybe I will see you at a tournament one of these days.

Hey Nimpfisher, On a completely different note. Did you hear about the rainbow trout that was caught by a gal from Sapphire NC? It was 20 lbs 3 ozs. set a new state record!!! It was 34 inches long with a 23 inch girth!! Caught Jan 28th on the Horse Pasture River.. That is one BIG trout and she must have had the time of her life reeling that baby in!!! Makes me want to get my waders and my ten weight and throw some line on the water..

no i didnt hear about it, i only live about 20 min from there in brevard ,
will have to ask a guide friend of mine who lives in sapphire

Hi Chicagolandpool, The story with picture is in the sports section of the Raleigh NC News & Observer newspaper and ran on 3/16/2006. I lived in Chitown and caught many big steelhead at the Root River in Wisconsin and this is one solid looking rainbow. Beat the old state record by almost 4 lbs.. Maybe nympfisher can get some more info as he is closer to that area than I am.

Can someone give me advice on pool halls in Asheville NC. I am staying there in the next week or so to check out the river the gal caught the state record rainbow in. I hope to hike as much of the river as I can and play a little pool at night.

playtime is in asheville-owner is a guy named dana. if you feel froggy you may play him some golf on a snooker table. i reckon he is pretty GOOD.
