cloth folds from factory

Is this correct?

Bulk cloth comes in rolls? Bolts? whatever that means as far as length on the roll?

Individual table material cloth-comes prefolded in package?

Do you need to 'pre-relax' the folds? How? Roll your own on tubing for later installation?

Are packaging folds just not that big a deal? Will the installation/stretching process get rid of the folds?

Does the color of the fabric (lets say Simonis) or the "HR' treatment make any difference in having or being able to see folds after installation? Would tournament blue vs traditional green make folds harder to see?

Is this a 'don't sweat the small sh1t' thing?

thanks

Cloth is soft folded when cut for precuts but as mentioned the fold marks come out when the cloth is stretched.
You can see the process here - Cutting cloth

Cool video Dartman. I assumed the top spot was the head. I hand tested the bed cloth and the grain seemed to go to the other end. Towards the bolt on the video. So I assumed all the rails did too. oh well, does it even matter on the rails?

You can tell that guy has done it a few times. :D

The spots/stickers are to mark the Top of the cloth. The grain of the weave on regular pool table cloth is not directional. On some cloth designed for snooker (i.e. Simonis 4000) the grain is directional.

Cloth born on bolts-rolled

I know the folds pull out when you install the cloth, but when I have extra cuts lying around I take them out of the bags and roll them around a piece of dowel, like they were originally onthe bolts. A little harder and more awkward to store but no creases!!! JMO

I was so tempted to iron mine before I installed, but common sense prevailed and the folds disappeared when stretched.
