cloth opinions please

Players now want every table to play the same. There is really nothing wrong with that as that's the way it should be. But it's just one more reason that pool is so much easier today than it was back 25 year and more ago. It's like shooting marbles :p. Johnnyt

Why in the world would you say that without even knowing anything about his table. I would never put 760 on anything smaller than a 9 footer, and it's still too fast for most people, and wears too quickly.

Personally, I would put Simonis 860 on my table. Its the most used cloth in tournaments, and it plays great.

when it wears out i replace it.

What do your local pool rooms have? I put 860 on my table because most rooms in my area use it. Practice on what you play on.I would rather have wool on my table, but that would hurt me in the pool rooms. Now, some of the rooms are using the ' championship' cloth. It plays 'ok' when its new, but gets much too fast when it wears in.

I have installed and sold the ProLine 404 and the Proform 505. I have not installed the imperial cloth.
If your after a worsted cloth I'd choose the ProLine/Proform over any other budget worsted cloth.
The elite 505 would be the best option on woolen budget cloth.

Personally, I prefer a nap cloth! But I have to practice on what makes the cash! But I totally agree with you! Players need to learn how to adapt,,, quickly! That's why they get so good so quick, on one type of table! I havel friend that I play even 9-ball! We usually go back and forth, in simonis! But once I get him on a nap cloth,,,, I drill him! Most people don't know what it means to stroke the ball! Also, not sure if its in my head, but I seem to run more balls in straight pool on map cloth much more consistently! If I'm on simonis, ill run a 7,12,5,13,8,22! And then in a nap cloth, 12,21,25,35,51<yesterday:) and I still don't know why:( anyway, u gotta go the way of the $$$!
