Call Chad at Mr. Lucky's in South Los Angles, CA. as a room owner with Brunswick and Diamond tables, he can give you his opinion after having the Simonis 860HR Tour Blue on his tables for about a year now, and for the record, his is not an opinion, it's a factual based...what better info can you possibly get than that

LOL I don't think Glen even uses staples anymore!). See ya the next time I'm up in Minneapolis...which will be in about a month! :thumbup:

I have it on my table at home and I have been playing everyday on it, along with practising jump shots and my break and the cloth still looks new. Looks great, plays great, what more can you ask!

Glen just put it on my table. If you want to see how it plays you are very welcome to come over. I am VERY pleased with this cloth. I have always hated brand new cloth....until now. This stuff plays like "broken in " 860. Word's cant explain it , come on over! I live real close to canterbury

I was in the room yesterday and today, when I returned a Diamond Smart Table leg that I fixed the leg leveler on, looked at all the tables and the work that has been done on them in the past. I'd consider bringing in about 10 mechanics all at the same time for advanced training and recover all 43 tables at once, but after talking to everyone that would be willing to show up, I'd have to charge at least $150.00 a table labor, but at least every table would look the same, and all the bed cloths would be glued down and on tight as hell...as normal. I'm still thinking about it, I'll call Greg in a few days to see what he'd like to do, besides that, it would be a great opportunity for the local mechanics to learn something new as well, as I'm willing to spend time with any mechanic that is willing to learn to improve.

i had simonis 760 and 860 on my gold crown but this time i tried Champion Tournament cloth with my Brunswick Ventura because it was cheaper and everything i read was positive. it's really nice. i suggest that you try the Champion cloth on a few tables THEN decide if you want to go with Simonis. with that many tables the savings using Champion cloth would be significant.
How much experience do you have at installing cloth? Championship Tour Edition 30/30 wouldn"t hold a candle to the Simonis 860HR

i have been using simonis for 22 years on my gold crown but just recently tried Championship Tournament cloth on my "new" Ventura II Pro which i just restored. so far so good. i liked the look and feel of the cloth when it arrived and like the way it plays.

um Sausage, here's something for you to think about. I've worked with Simonis cloth and Championship 3030 for well over 20 years...not on just ONE Gold Crown, or Ventura II Pro pool table. I've taken off more cloth than you'd ever touch in your lifetime. Now, the great thing about taking off cloth is you get to see how it looks and plays before you take it off, after being on the tables for many months, or several years for that matter.
I have nothing against Championship 3030 cloth, but I don't like how it speeds up with wear over time, I don't feel a great cloth should do that! I don't care for how slippery the cloth plays new either, because that makes the tables play different when a pool room is full of tables, they change from one to the next, depending on how much play is on each. I also don't like cloth that feels like a burlap bag stretched over the slate and rails.
Further more, I HAVE owned 3 pool rooms in the past, not just ONE pool table at home. When choosing a cloth for your table at home, you don't have to take in the consideration of the amount of play on your table, such as abuse, beer spills, and mis-cues! The Championship 3030 does hold up well, but my problem is with the play of it, and I'm not alone in this.
Name a major tournament played on Championship 3030, and I'll name 10 to one played on Simonis! The BCAPL has switched over to 860HR on all their pool tables used in tournaments, why do you think that is? Diamond would never install Championship 3030 on a new or used Diamond, why is that?

I'll say it again, Championship 3030 is not my choice of cloth for any pool room, Simonis 860HR is...period, and I'm not saying that from my experience installing cloth, I'm saying that because of my experience taking cloth off tables for the last 26 years!

um, Glen: you have nothing against Champion 3030 but then go on a diss diatribe against, "burlap" ? you can't be serious... the champion cloth is so well made that it's difficult to distinguish up-side from down. frankly, i'm glad that simonis has some competition. the champion tournament cloth on my table plays beautifully. i'm quite happy with it. i think that the starter of this thread should install it on a couple tables and see for himself. if you think that this is just ka-razy advice, fine. it matters not to me.
furthermore: simonis also speeds up as it ages. that's just the nature of the cloth beast. unfortunately, the cloth on commercial tables needs to be replaced often from abuse regardless of the type of cloth.

Was just wondering while I was driving back to the Diamond factory, and all your talk about using Simonis for 22 years and all, have you even played on the 860HR, if so...when and where? The reason I ask, is that normally when you recommend a cloth to someone as better than another cloth, it's because you have experience with the "other" cloth that you're NOT recomending....and hopefully you do...right? or are you just tooting your own horn?
