Guys,

I have an almost new Simonis 9ft bed cloth. Would that be enough cloth to recover a 7fter, rails and bed?

Thanks in advance,
Ian

If that bed cloth comes with rail cloth, and there's enough cloth to recover a 9ft, then in my "OPINION" since a 7ft is SMALLER than a 9ft...I'd have to guess that yes....you'd have enough cloth to recover the 7ft instead:p Define "bed cloth"...is that the full width of cloth, or have the rail cloth been taken off. Was the cloth 78" to start with, and rail cloth taken off?.....What?

Well this link answered part of my questions...

http://www.simoniscloth.com/images/PDF/SimonisClothCuttingGuide.pdf

Since a 4.5' is 12" wider than 3.5' and you need 6" per rail, you would have 4 rails in the extra width. For the last 2 rails you could use part of the extra 2 feet on the ends (9' vs 7'). So it seems to me there should be plenty of cloth. My only question now, why does the simonis link say you cant use the "ends" for the rails?

Glen,

Thanks for the response, it is just the BED cloth, taken off a recently dismantled 9ft table. So its around 4.5' feet wide excluding the stretch.

It not that you "can't" - it's not recommended because the weave is different.

Thanks for the reply.

That makes sense, I think it could be a very low budget option for someone.

Thanks again,
Ian
