I have 860 simmonis on a Diamond 9ft for an year now. It's get really slow. Was woundering if something can be done for speeding it up, cleaner or majic trick? Without buying new cloth. Or does the room have to be a certain temp?

Room Climate is important to keep a pool table playing consistent
The best thing for a over due pool table that is full of dust and pool chalk is a quick shop vacuuming "any vac with no rotating brush" and a air compresser blow gun "100 p.s.i" with a in-line moisture trap to blow out dust, dirt, chalk that is built up and out of reach of a shop vacuum
After you get the table clean, it is suggested that you use a Simonis X1 chalk dust removing tool on a regular basis and to keep the table covered when not in use-
I have a few simonis X1 tools available.
-if you need more info on room temp and climate suggested for pool tables it is available, just let me know. Or search around. The climate conversation has came up a few times here.

Edit-
Oppp...I did not see that RKC popped in to help ya..you are better off taking his advice on cleaning and care taking of simonis cloths...he knows best as his underwear is simonis..

"really slow"? Explain what that means.

How often do you clean the cloth and the balls?

What's the humidity in the room?

Is the room climate controlled (heat/air)?

Let's get a little background here before any instant-replies.

lmao!!! You know, somehow that seems like it might not be beyond the realm of possibility...

LOL Agreed. I have the gut feeling his is Tournament Blue 860 HR though. And hopefully that's the most I EVER think about Glen's underwear! Thanks a LOT, Rob! ;)

The cloth is blue and the room temp is 59 to 64 degrees. There's heat in the winter and A/C for the summer months. I clean the balls byweekly and the cloth the same..

Ok, then I need you to describe what you mean by playing slow, because in order to compare the speed of your table to other tables, the cloth on the other tables would have to have about the same amount of use.

Glen

The humidity unknow . I heard different storys about the vacuuming with a beater and not one. What is a simonis X1 tool?

I'm really the only one playing on it with a handful of time with others. I bought new rails last year and the same time it was recovered. Between me and some friends talking about the speed should be quicker and more reactive off the rails.

Was it a Diamond mechanic that recovered your table last?

After the fact. The table is around 10 to 12 years old. The rails were rock hard . I'm from Maryland and the mechanic is very well known around the area. With new rails he cut 4.17 inch pocket and he is coming this weekend to open up 4.5 inch

I'm trying to narrow down why your table is playing slow....but to do so, I need to ask questions....and get answers...or I can't figure out why it's playing slow;)

Why were the rails replaced? or are you talking about the cushions being replaced?

Ok, now we're getting somewhere:D now....what kind of cushions were installed on the rails?...K66 cushions...or did you order replacement cushions from the factory?

Let's just hope he doesn't stretch it as tight across his ass as he does on tables....
