CNC Electronics Setup

I've been sitting on a pile of CNC parts for over 10 years, and now might be the time to get them moving:)

I'd like to talk with someone who knows CNC well on the telephone, that can point me in the right direction.

Topics of my interest are electronics hardware (I have the Iron already):
PC selection
Breakout board selection
Drive selection
Power supply selection
Limit and home switch setup

Any recommendations on who would be willing to help? Feel free to PM. I would much prefer a phone call rather than writing back and forth...

Thanks,
Nick

Phone conversations are pretty tough for me these days, but I can point you in the right direction.

I have several of these setups, and they work very well. They are a simple Gecko G540 and the Gecko 280 ounce steppers. I recommend a leadscrew with .200" pitch, and anti backlash nuts. We use Mach3 for the control.

Here's a plug and play control box

You can email me too if you have some questions, rbunnell@obcues.com
