I'm interested to see how much the going rate for the tables are where you play. My local tables just went to $1.25 and that seems a little high to me. How much do you pay?

Most places I play have free pool specials and charge a lot for food and drink. The ones that have the coin slots in are $.75 or $1.00.

$1.25 is high, but everything else is high too!

I am 30 mi. N of Baltimore.

1.25 is high to me. You can't tell me they are not making money at that price.

The tables around here are all 75 cents, but it's pretty easy to blow through a roll of quarters in an hour. $10 an hour for a ratty barbox seems a little excessive to me. I wouldn't play on boxes that cost more than that, unless they were Diamonds.

One place in the Valley was 25 Cents that last time I was there, most are 50 Cents, and one I know of with Diamonds is said to be 75 Cents.

I don't play if I have to pay. Usually play in private clubs like a Moose where the tables are open.

Have seen that most are $1.00 in the bars. Private clubs if not free are 25 to 50 cents.

in Milwaukee you can find them anywhere between .75 and $1.50. That means I said $1.00 since that seems to be the average cost. If you go into the ghetto you can find 1 or 2 for .50 cents but I don't go there too often.

Varies

Here in Central Texas we pay on average .75 for Valleys, Sheltis, etc....

Some of the VFW, Moose Lodge or Amreican Legions are .50

There are two places with Diamond BB's and they are 1.00

As they say....you get what you pay for

southern minnesota its $1.50 a game or $5 for 25 min which is a better deal most of the time

I just always assumed 1 buck was standard, that's what it is for everything around here. I hardly touch 'em except for league.

It'd be interesting sometime to time the average game of 8-ball (which is what I end up playing mostly) to see how much cheaper the bar box is. If it's cheaper at all. I'd need to get 8 games of pool per hour to make the 9 footer cheaper than the barbox, though of course I'll pay more for a proper table.

Bar Boxes

The tables leased from vending companies all charge $1.00 here. I'm sure it will go up anytime...rip off. The bars that actually own their own table, who are then shunned from participating in any of the leagues for not leasing a table, because the vending companies run the leages, charge $.50 - $.75.

free or 75 cents. mostly free though. and thats fine with me cause the amount of beer and shots we drink should be more than enough to keep the owner happy.

and yeah 1.25 is expensive. When your playing break and runout pool that money can add up real fast.

I think most in this area are up to one dollar, now. I don't play bar tables unless it's a tournament and I haven't played in one in several years.

In Oregon, the usual pattern seems to be 50 cents in the small town bars,
75 cents in the larger cities...Salem, Eugene, Portland.

One place in Salem was 50 cents...plus $2 per hour! We walked. I heard later that they were closing.

Here in western MA they are pretty much all still .50, I think 2 or 3 in the county are .75

The last time any of them were recovered Nixon was in office.

Down here in south Tx. they are between .50 and 1.25. Where i mainly play they are mainly .50.
There is one hole in the wall bar down here that has 4 tables and is still at a quarter a game.
