I have been following Carlos (Coll Cues) for a while and finally had the opportunity to pickup a cue from him. This cue was actually his player and I was able to talk him out of it. So he cleaned it up and sent it my way.
The very first thing I noticed when I opened up the packaged was how delicate and precise his brass ringwork is, it is truly perfect and really pops in person. Its hard to photograph metal and show the true beauty.
The Cocobolo is very nice with a deep red color, accompanied by some very nice black streaks. The lizard print leather wrap is nice and slick which is important to me because I play with a wrapless cue.
Carlos has put some serious thought and development behind his shafts. He has three different types of shafts you can choose from, one being a standard maple shaft, two slight modification for low deflections, and three is still a solid maple shaft but very low deflection. I hope Carlos will jump on and explain more about his shafts, my terms are far from technical

Ive only had a chance to play about 10 racks with the cue but the cue has a very crisp tone and feeling which on a semi-LD shaft really surprised me. The weight and balance of the cue feel just right, very neutral so the cue feels very light in your hand.
I am excited to play more with the cue and I will come back with my thoughts after Ive spent a few hours with it. And of course, here are some photos.
