Color

So, everyone commented on my billiards table cloth color, So now I want to know what color everyone thinks is the best color to have on a billiards table. Here is a pic of my table again.

For that table? Burgundy.

The "standard" colors are Tournament Blue and Tournament Green (if anything in pool can be called standard

You can see them at the Simonis website. They are the 1st and 8th colors in the color chart (roll over them and the table changes color)

I prefer the Tournament Blue because it's easier to see the balls and you don't need as much light over the table. Light grey and tan (6th and 12th on the Simonis color chart) are nice too.

If you have slow, nappy cloth I'd replace it. If it's worsted cloth like Simonis or Championship Tour Edition, I'd keep it until it wears out and needs to be replaced.

This is definitely the perfect color!

I like tournie blue; have it on my table; although I might say that that tan cloth looks real nice also... of course green is ok anytime.

I think it looks fine. If you're going to take competitive pool seriously at some point, then you'll probably want to put Simonis or tournament grade equivalent cloth on it at some point, in tourney blue color. As is, looks fine though.

So, what is the difference in each of these, Simonis cloth 760, Simonis cloth 860, Simonis cloth 860HR and Simonis cloth 920?

Check out the link above. The Simonis site explains it well.

In short:
760 - fast. Best for straight pool, bnaks, one pocket.
860 - a bit slower. best for rotation games like 9ball.
860HR -- more of a commercial grade.

I think most pool rooms if using Simonis would probably have the 860 or 860hr.

Mine is tan, because it goes with the décor in my basement...and the chalk doesn't blue-up the shafts.

ummmmm.....what? :scratchhead::confused:

Tournament blue is the most easy on the eyes and gives good contrast.
I`m not a fan of green and red.
Tan and grey is ok.
Purple is a nice colour on a casual playing hometable.
