Colored cork wrap?

Do they make a black dyed cork wrap? Or, can one be dyed black?

Can be dyed, real cork anyways. Dunno about the rubberized stuff as I haven't used it.

Natural cork dyes easily and rubberized cork will still take some dye, but not as good.

ICBW, but I believe you'd be creating a situation for your grip hand to turn black unless your hand is very dry most of the time. I can't think of any type of dye that would not reactivate at least a little under those conditions. The neoprene or rubber in the natural cork matrix contributes to the distinctive comfortable feel and longevity of the wrap. Beware of nitrile matrix cork. In time it might as well be licorice. Had one like that once!

I had a McDermott D23 with a black cork wrap...absolutely no problems, didn't come off on my hands, etc., so I know it can and has been done...just don't know how (since I'm not a "cuemaker").

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Wonder if the McDermott cork was synthetic or natural. I wonder if leather dyes would work. I'll see if I can do some color testing and post pics.

I use my leather dyes on cork and it works well. I dye it after I install it. I tried to do so before the install and it didn't work as well. That could be due to my method more so than the dye or the leather.
