I recently moved and when I reconnected my computer I had to reload some drivers. Now I can watch youtube videos but not propoolvideo.com.

Any ideas on why one works but not the other?

Thanks,
Al

Are you receiving any kind of error? With Internet Explorer, you may go into TOOLS>>INTERNET OPTIONS and click on "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files". Amazingly enough this will fix a lot of browser issues that seem completely unrelated. Keep us updated.

or it could be:

I use Netscape 9.0 browser, which is based on Firefox, and under it, you have 2 display modes (right click), to view as Internet Explorer to view it as Firefox.

I used to have problems viewing Cuetable depictions within AZB until I switched it over to the other view mode.

Many people forget to get updated software of the ones they use all the time.

The other question would be do you have virus and spyware protection, and if so, have you scanned lately?

online video is a hacker's ' wet dream'. we are globally in the 'war of the hackers'.every browser, program language, server, operating system has so many 'holes' it ain''t funny. it is even possible for a site to have 'malcode' in it and not know it. the hackers used to have to steal your 'session cookie' but other more sophisticated methods are now a reality. everytime we get online, we are taking a chance.

All OS keep a 'cache' of everything you do, often there are settings in xp registry for programs you no longer have. If you do not go into registry and tell it to not log every logon, etc, that goes into windows 'cache'.Same for Linux or mac, you have to tell it what to not do.

But that requires reading hard books,, making mistakes haha,if one is not a pc expert. But, just swiping the drive with a good wipe program and putting xp, or whatever back on may fix the problem.

more info?

Well, you did not provide much detail in your initial post.

I assume when you moved, you obtained a different
ISP (internet service provider) and that was why you had
to install new drivers? (I'm asking) And, do you remember
what drivers you had to install? This might not be related,
but it is impossible to know, without more info.

It would be helpful to know what OS you are running, and
what errors (if any) are reported when you try to watch
those videos. Also, what browser and version you have
tried. The problem may indeed be caused by a virus, or
other malware, as another poster mentioned, but it's
very hard to tell without knowing more about your specific
environment/system.

yikes lol there's some rough advice here. You definitely don't need to wipe your drive or start fretting about hackers lawl...

One possibility is that your browser is set to allow content from youtube but 'forgot' to allow content from propoolvideo, if you have some kind of flash blocking plugin. A lot of programs that are made to block popups and ads will accidentally block flash videos that you want to watch. A common one for firefox, NoScript, requires you to click an icon to allow a site to play flash videos. You might have something similar you can click to allow propoolvideo.com.

If that isn't the problem, it couldn't hurt to clear your browser cache/temporary internet files.

If that doesn't fix it, the only application you should need to install (or reinstall) is flash player 9. The videos are in flv (flash video) format... which is playable with just flash installed and nothing else. I don't believe you need quicktime or any other codecs.

The latest version of flash (version 9) is at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

It should quietly detect your browser and OS and the next page will be a download link for the version that's right for you. It's possible (a bit unlikely) that you have a version that's new enough for youtube to be happy with it, but not new enough for propoolvideo.com.

Recommend that you uninstall the old version manually (through the start menu if it's listed there, or under add/remove programs if it's not) before reinstalling with the new version.

If all of this sounds like gibberish it's because I'm assuming you're on windows, but if you're on a mac... maybe someone else can chime in :X
