Confession... Cheating on Pool

I know you have some courses around there. Get out and throw some discs. PM and I may have some old Discs laying around that I will ship you for Free! On one condition.. I need pics of you actually playing. :)

Thanks for the offer!! I played "frisbee golf" in the early eighties and was not very good at it, it was fun though. I was thinking of the more frustrating traditional golf for my relaxation, I can shank a ball in the woods like no bodies business. :D

Thanks again,

BK

Well my offer will always stand so dont hesitate to shoot me a PM.

OK, I'll admit it, I take a break in the spring and summer to. Instead of playing in 4 leagues per week, I only play in 3. :D

Of course, instead of the extra league, I usually find a tournament to play instead, but it's optional, so it still counts as a break, doesn't it?

We don't have any leagues in my home(ghost)town during the summer.

So I'll be having an affair at the drag strip.....

But you can't drag race every day of the week, so I'll definitely be to all the usual tournaments.

I'm such a loser, I think I play more pool when it starts to get warm out. Bars are a little less crowded and pool halls have all kinds of deals.

Yes you heard it right, summer is right around the corner and I am gearing up for the Disc Golf leagues. I can't believe I am saying this but pool is going to take the back burner over the summer as I compete playing Disc Golf. If you guys have not tried it, you need to! It is a great family activity and it doesnt cost a dime. All you have to buy is your discs and you can pick those up for cheap at any out doors store or you can PM me and I may hook ya up with a trade or something :).

I know there are other people out there cheating on pool this summer! I cant be the only one :D.

Alex

Heck yeah, I'm with ya there... I'm a PDGA member, been playing for 18 years. Great sport!

Me, too! I know I started around '90-'91. Both of my sons play and win tournaments. Started them out young.

Never played disc golf but sounds like real good fun.

As regards real golf the height of summer (July/August round these here parts) is actually the only time of year that we store our clubs away or go on trips to cooler climes as its generally far too uncomfortable heat and humidity wise to play, even in an electric buggy fitted with mini air conditioner units blasting cold air towards the back of your neck. Other 10 months its more or less permanently bearable temps on the course and guaranteed sunshine with maybe 4/5 days when it rains.

So pool cues are far more likely to get an outing here in the summer than in "the winter". Topsy turvy old world sometimes:)

Hey I grew up in Rapid City, we are South D Bros haha. Hey Ill have some Gateway Wizards for sale in like a week. If you putt with these let me know and if you dont you should be putting with them! :)
What company are they by? I really haven't found a decent putter I like. All my discs are by Discraft.

I actually get to play more in the summer months as its easier to drive to pool halls in my old beater, in the winter I cant get out of town sometimes.

two timing pool

i have about 20 rod blanks i need to make into finished rods and then proof fish them for about four weeks in southern florida:)

Haha talk about a bunch of very trusting guys! I do disc trades all the time there and I have not been burned once. Knock on wood!

I definetly play more in the summer. In south texas it pays to stay in the AC during the summer. i might melt if I go out. Plus i love the poolhalls when theyre dead and things get boring thats when people really start betting on anything, just to pass the time.

lol To each his own but thanks for the laugh Nj I almost fell over.. Frolf lol never heard that one before

I do like frisbee golf, but do not play it much. My summer will see an increase in regular golf, mountain biking, and of course softball. My pool probably will not decrease though, as I canusually only play at night after the little ones go to bed, and my pool table will still be there for me when its too dark to do the others. Bean bags may take a little time away from pool, but if I lose at bean bags (rarely of course), I just invite the person in to play some pool.

I know those Micropterus Salmoides are going to be calling to me real hard as soon as the ice melts off of my favorite lakes here in Iowa. Catching that first one of the year is always a thrill. :D

Micropterus Salmoides Other Common Names:
Bigmouth bass, bucketmouth bass, openmouth bass, hog, hawg, lineside, bigmouth trout, green trout, green bass, Oswego bass, Welshman, slough bass, lake bass
