Confession

Neil...I'm glad you didn't fall for that scumbag's ploy!

I guess I owe a confession to Williebetmore. A while back, we were discussing how to handle a situation, and I took the stance of not fighting. (Years ago I would have, now, I don't believe it is the right thing to do.) He stated that in the right situation, I would still fight, despite my beliefs. Well, as it turns out, he was right.

I post the following as a warning to all of you that might come across a similar situation.

Last Sun. night, at the local little tournament, I ended up having to play a guy that no one there likes. He is rather strange, to put it midly. He's about a 5 in the league, and thinks he is great. Is just full of B.S. to the max, ect. Just one of those people you really want to avoid if at possible. He is also a rather big guy, probably about 6'3", and thinks that makes him intimidating to others.

He gets the first break, and takes a flier at a bank on the 1 to the 9...I knew he would. He makes it, and I tell him "good shot". It's loser breaks, so I'm waiting for him to rack them. Then he yells out what a great shot that was, how I will never even see a shot like that again, let alone be able to make one myself. He goes on and on, and others are starting to laugh at him. I then asked him if he wanted to play some for some money. He then tells me that I don't have enough money to play him. So, I ask him what he wants to play for. After running me down for another 5 minutes or so, he tells me he's going to get me for 20K.

Now, the guys behind him are really cracking up. And, the comments he's making are really starting to get to me, but I'm doing my best just to give it back to him. Then he starts babbling some stupid stuff, and I had to ask him if he was drunk or just plain stupid. So, then he starts struttting around saying "yep, I'm stoopid". A bunch of guys are cracking up now!

He finally gets back to racking, and of course, hardly any balls are touching. I tell him to re-rack them, and now he has to go off on that tangent. How I'm cheating him, ect. While it's my turn, he starts stating how he's going to kick my butt. I try and shrug it off, but then he went to far. He started threating to kick my families butt too!:mad:

That's when I tossed my stick on the table and walked over to him. He was sitting on a stool, and was the same height I was standing up. I got in his face and told him to go for it, he gets first swing. He wouldn't do it. So I got right in his face and put my forehead on his, and told him to take a swing. This jerk then starts yelling "he touched me! He touched me! He touched me! You all saw it! He touched me!"

At this point, the other guys are cracking up again, and in disbelief that a grown man would act like a 4 yr old. The TD then yells at us to stop it, and not wanting to get barred, I told the jerk to go ahead and shoot. He finally gets up and makes a deliberate foul. I called it on him, and he starts going off on how big a cheat I am, ect. I'm at the table, and before I can shoot he starts crying again, this time the waitress is there, and I pick up the cb and tossed it to him, and told the waitress and the TD that I was out of there. After much coaxing, the jerk refused to go outside with me.

Well, if you read this far, thanks, now we get to the important part! Turns out this a-hole makes his living by suing people. And, I was his next target. He tried everything he could to get me to hit him. Something I learned a while back, was to always make sure the other guy swings first. Then, you can claim self-defense.

So, if you get some jerk really pushing your buttons, be careful, he just might have the same idea as this scum bag did!

they say never argue with an idiot, because from a distance you can't tell which one is the idiot. shit story.
