I have been trying to find my cue online, and I found almost an identical copy. Its called a Players C-960 however the joint is black, and so is the butt, why is that? Is my stick fake?

these cues are made in a large factory in China. They make many differant brands. I would think they would just change a few details here and there depending on the brand.
Kind of like General Motors does with their cars.
the pic of your cue is not showing for me.

Seriously, you're concerned that your cue is a knock-off of a Players cue???
I don't need to know what you paid for your cue but do you think there's that much
wiggle-room in the cost that counterfeiting would be profitable???
Maybe a SouthWest but certainly not a Players.
You can sleep easy.

You make some real good points there, plus who would want to counterfeit a Chinese's cue anyway. I mean thay don't even have any decent water!!!!!!!!!

Well unless it had a Italian name like Lucasi!!!!!

One of your better posts.

Not worried about it being a knockoff, I'm worried I can't find its match so I can buy its' shaft, and joint protector. I want info about it so I can prevent breaking...about the pic my bad

The thread of the pin used on these cues is 5/16-18 and the solid Black Collar are very easy to come by. You can go on line or where you bought it and get a shaft very easily.

For instance here is one of many sites that sell extra shafts for your cue.

Alot of production companies offer color variations for different distributors of the same model cue.

It is VERY easy to get a matching shaft for the cue. You can get a Players shaft or in fact any one of numerous others from the very cheap to the very expensive.

The Players shafts are actually a very good value IMHO.

I wouldn't be concerned at all about variations in the model line. It has little or nothing to do with you finding a shaft for the cue.

Prevent breaking? I am not sure what you mean.

yup, just like Doc says, the thread is a very common size in production cues and is also very easy to find in upgrade LD shafts from Predator, OB, Tiger,,,,,,,,,and on and on,,,,,,,same pin as Meucci, btw.

Regarding different collars,,,,,,,very common in production cues to changes materials and components during a high production run, nothing to worry about. Just look for basic design, ringwork, etc, and you'll likely find a very close match.

Players cues are cheap, but I believe for the money they are good cues generally,,,,,,,again, "for the money".
