Congrats John Brumback - DCC Banks Champion

That's it, I'm finally getting off my rear and ordering his DVD. I've put it off for too long.
Congratulations, Mr. Brumback.

Would this make him the most successful bank pool player in history?
3 DCC wins, 2 DCC runner-ups.

Win #3 for John at DCC in Banks. He also has three second place finishes. The place was packed for this match, even more than watched the Bigfoot final. They love John here. He is a pool God in Kentucky, Bank Pool country!

Don't forget that John was also the 2009 all-around DCC champion, so he's more than just the greatest bank-pool player in the world!

He also got third in the master of the table prize last year 10th in 9 ball & onepocket & 2nd in banks - STRONG! He ain't a one trick pony, though he is certainly renowned for his banks prowess.

Careful, too many guys like John around here and this game might go somewhere.

Never met a more stand-up, nicer guy than John in my measly 20 years in the game. Guy makes me smile every time.

This is crazy impressive. Not only to go through a huge field undefeated, but to do it multiple times and almost always finishing near the top.

I had to check into this. Since 2004, he is a 3 time champion, a 3 time runner-up, bringing his total to 9 top 4 finishes in the last 13 Derby's and two other finishes in the top 13.

This is almost insane in a short-rack race to 3 event with 400+ players every year.

I suspect no one else has come close to that consistently high level of finish over that time period. I think that's very strong evidence that John is the best bank-pool player in the world.

Of course, that shouldn't surprise anyone, because he's from KENTUCKY, the bank-pool capital of the world!!

Can we go so far as to say the best bank pool player of all time?

That's tougher to say. I never saw Eddie Taylor, and he's widely considered the greatest bank-pool player of all time, so I'm not really in a position to judge.

It would be very interesting to hear what guys like Jay and Danny D. would have to say about comparing John's game to someone like Eddie Taylor.

Congrats to John! I'm lucky enough to be able to sponsor him and hang out with him. He is a class act, and the greatest bank pool player of all time IMO.

Even more amazing is the DCC is the only event he plays each year. He starts practicing about a month before the tournament and still performs like he plays 8 hours a day. That my friends is God given talent!
