Congratulations to one of the nicest and straightest guys in the pro-circus. For me it was the perfect final. On one side the legend Efren who played also some fabulous balls-and on the other side one of the best 14.1 players nowadays who finnaly got what he deserved!!
The respect in form of a world-title.

Well done John :-)

George, were you planning to be there at some point for the streaming? Seems I remember someone saying that. Hope you're well.

There aren't enough congrats for John

Already posted in other "Congrats John Schmidt" threads, but why not here as well:

Agreed. Now certain "haters" can't throw it from the hip at John that "he is just a practice hero" and has no 14.1 titles. This is a long time coming, and I'm glad that he took it down.

Congrats John!

Jay, remember that the only two 14.1 championships that Efren ever competed in prior to this Predator championship, was the 1995 Maine Event and the 2000 14.1 US Open -- which he won, and placed third, respectively.

It's not a question of whether Efren plays straight pool often or not, but how *thoroughly skilled* a cueman he is. It doesn't matter the game, Efren can play it, and play it well.

Efren's my all-time favorite player. I was sad to see him match up against John, because one of them was going to lose, and I was split down the middle as to who I wanted to see win.

Congrats John and Efren for giving us a match to remember!
