Great tournament for Mika. Undefeated and only tested a few times. Handled the pressure and made it through and played a superb final to win 12-5 against the 19 year old Can Wang.

Indeed, in the hot-seat match Mika had a clutch break and run to finish the set, then looked like the rest did him some good while waiting to play again. Good to see him back on top!

Congrats to Wang Can as well for a great tournament showing - anyone know if he's sticking around for the Southern Classic?

watched mika play in the entire tourney! He played rock solid! CONGRATS!

IIRC, Jay said something to the effect "he's here (US) for 4 more tourneys. He was one of the last to enter the Fatboy, errr BigFoot tourney. Karl Boyes was the last entrant".

So, he's surely in the Southern Classic and Bigfoot. That dude shot some fearless, long-ass shots with power and shape that is extremely rare. I look forward to watching him develop even further.

My hats off to Wang! But... OMG, Mika was amazing. I saw him at Chesapeake live, in 2008 and 9 front row. Looks just vaguely familiar... :)

Awesome for Mika! He's definitely one of my favorite players. His DVD set taught me a lot! Funny that he won just a couple days after the, What happened to Mika, thread. Congrats, Iceman!

I agree. He used to be my favorite player then lost track of him.. He didn't play in the high vis things that I can watch. Its great to see a guy of his caliber come back and take it home ! No disrepect to the kid; he played great as well and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. Well done Mika !

Mike's time away from the tournament trail must have done him some good. Looks like he's in dead-punch stroke! Good for him!

I love Mika's fast and loose style. He was the only one who could slow down Wang. Definitely intimidated the kid in their two matches. I like that Wang traveled all the way here to play, the only Chinese player in the field besides Siming Chen. Both are awesome players with brilliant futures.

Is Mika playing the bigfoot challenge?

wang played GREAT, but he is definately lacking experience in big tournaments.

im really happy that mika is back on the "big" scene

Congrats all around.

Congrats to Mika and the promoters of this great event.

But also big time grats to Can and the other teenagers competing in this event. When I was nineteen I had yet run more than a couple racks at any game!

Back when I took typing class, each error counted as a 10 word deduction. You're slipping!

Congrats, Mika!

It's been a long week. :embarrassed2:

But "Mike" is the English version of Mika, right?
