Just wanted to say Congrats to my good friend and playing buddy, Mr. J... for finishing tied for 25th place in a field of 224 at the recently completed 8-ball US Bar Table Championships in Reno.

Good job, Jeffy!! :D :D :D

Thanks Dave...

Looks like the Pool Gods have decided to let me make a little splash out in the big waters with the big boys...hopefully there will be more to come in the future. Looks like some hard work, good practice, dedication and determination can produce for the Working Man now and then...

Thanks agian...

Mr. J. :-)

Hi Jeffy! First time I have been on since Friday or Saturday and wanted to make sure I gave you your due. Congrats, and good playing!

I went down in a ball of flames at our first NWPA stop of the season, after 2 good wins (7-2 and 7-0 against Mary Olson) - Eddie Mataya put the jinx on me or something by betting $100 that I was going to repeat my victory there of last year. I just needed one more win against someone who has never beaten me to play Kyoko in 5th/6th.

Well, in my next match I started getting an annoying tickle in my throat where I had to keep coughing. I then started feeling a slight fever. I had not been drinking my special alkaline water on Friday or Saturday and I think I overdid some acidic foods, which I believe set me up for disease. I just lost intensity..practically passing out in my chair, lol, and at the end, hung a couple 9 balls and lost the set.

They wanted us to end our matches by 6 so that meant that we were still 2 matches away from the money on the loser's side that had to come back on Sunday. That night, I knew I was running a temp, but went out with the Portland girls anyway because they were new in town and my next opponent scheduled for the morning made a rude remark to one of those ladies and I somehow felt responsible for showing that all Seattle players weren't b**ches. I felt absolutely horrible though the whole time.

I had a hard night, going to bed at 12:30, waking up at 1:30, 4:30 and 6:00.

So anyhoo, I went back Sunday at 9 (and we started our matches at 9:05), and again, lost to the gal that I have never lost to, and I swear I was going to throw up the whole time. When I left that morning, I was running a temp of 104 and still wanted to go finish her off, but just couldn't do it. Scratching on a dumb 9 ball, missing 2 easy 9 balls, and just trying to walk to the table took everything I had. I can barely remember the drive home, I was almost delirious.

I immediately went to bed on Sunday around 11 am and my fever finally broke on Monday night at 6 pm, but I have been sweating it out ever since. This post has taken too much out of me, I am going back to bed! :o

PS - Jeff, I hope you can make it to the Bellingham soiree with Dave.

Get better Linda! Hate hearin' bout you not being able to throw your cue around. And Jeff, good job as well. I believe we have played in the same event more than once, but I can't seem to get an image of your face. Can you post a pic so I can see if I remember seeing you in Reno?

Thanks Micah. I am up today, only coughing out my lung and feeling like I am going to bust a blood vessel in my brain, lol.

When I tried to find a picture of Jeff in my vault, I just could not find one. Kerry? I am sure she has quite a few she could post up. Dave might have some too.

So I went online and found this old article I had written in the heyday of Funsters. Boy, those were the days! In it, Jeff beat Stan and was playing pretty sporty back then too.
