Congrats Tony Robles

They don't seem that high to me, for a tournament with a $100 entry fee and 75 players.

I am no tournament expert by far... but are those some pretty incredible payouts or is it just me?? :)

Actually it's an incremental buy-in based on handicaps. More than half the field were B's & C's. I think there were about 15 open/pros, so everyone else paid $75 or less.

Entry Fees
$100 Open/Pro
$75 A/A+
$60 B/B+
$50 C/D
$40 Juniors

If you do the math: (approx)

$1500 (Open/Pros 15 X $100)
$3600 (average 60 X $60/player)
$5,100.

Room adds $1,000 but charges $10 per player that enters.

So that adds $250.

The total paid out was $5,350!

It's strong when a tour pays out EVERY DOLLAR the player's put into the pot!

Don'tcha think it should be $40 for the women too? :-)
Congrats to Tony!! I hope his tour is a MAJOR success.

Good point, but then how is it sustainable from Mr. Robles end? His work and time is certainly worth more than $125.00. What am I missing?

in tony's speech he gave before the matches started he stated something to the effect that he wanted to give something back to the game he loved. so maybe he's not taking a fee - wouldn't that be nice? with so many tours/tourneys taking a huge cut for themselves for "administrative costs" and leaving very little for the players it's nice to see the breakdown of the entry fees and how it relates to the total payout.

Tony was determined to organize the tour so that none of the money the players put it would be used for anything but their own benefit. So every pool room he has a stop with committed to paying Tony and Finn separately for running the tour. In fact, certain rooms would not commit to this way of running the tour and Tony refused to do a stop at their location.
