Dennis once again proves he is considered one of the world's most dangerous players.

The Filipinos were out in force and showed why they are some of the best players in the world.

Ralf Souquet never disappoints his fans and put on an excellent performance at the Predator International 10 Ball Championship.

Hats off to Mr. Souquet for another stellar performance throughout the tourney. Very consistent player.
 
I was surprised that the final match wasn't closer. Dennis played nearly flawlessly.

Dennis does that sometimes... I remember him blanking SVB in the finals of a tournament a couple of years ago. ( I think it was the enjoypool.com tourney?)

He plays OK...:D
 
Ralf had just shut Alex down 7-1 in the Semis, playing perfect pool. It is not easy to follow up a match like that and play just as good again. In the Finals Ralf made a couple of errors and that was all Dennis needed. The TWO best players got to the Finals this week. Three filipinos made the final four; Dennis, Alex and Warren. Both Ralf and Dennis suffered losses earlier in the tourney; Ralf losing to unheralded Carlos Caballo and Dennis losing to Tony Robles.

The player who stood out in my mind was Yu Ram Cha. She played brilliantly to come back from 8-4 down and defeat Shane. She came back from 7-1 down to Tony Robles and was running out to make it 8-9 when she miscued. EVERYONE miscued more than once this week, something about the dry climate in Vegas.

Well jay, I think Cha stood out in everyone's mind, because no one expected her to shoot that great. Actually, its not only the fact that she shot well. It's also the fact that she had to do it comming from behind and that shows even more heart. Winning from 8-4 to Shane and tieing it up from 7-1 to Robles.

I wish I could have watched the finals, since I don't get to see Dennis play often. I hope he makes it to more TV/stream matches. I think he is easily becomming a fan favorite.

Quite right. When the BCA week pro event was the enjoypool.com open, Dennis Orcullo was quite dominant, beating Shane easily in the hot seat match, and, as you noted, beating him again 7-0 in the final.

Just like Ralf Souquet, who beat Mika Immonen in the semifinal and Francisco Bustamante in the final of the 2003 semifinal of the BCA week pro event, Orcullo was already a proven "horse for the course" at the Riviera.

In fact, previous winners of the BCA week pro event had a very good showing this week, including 2007 champion Dennis Orcullo, 2005 Champion Thorsten Hohmann, 2004 Charlie Williams, 2003 and 2006 Champion Ralf Souquet, 2001 Champion Corey Deuel, and 2000 Champion Johnny Archer, all of whom came 9th or better.

I noticed you left out 2006...wasn't that the year Tony Robles beat Santos Sambajon in the finals? Or was that a different tournament?

(If anyone would know, it would probably be you) :thumbup:

That was 2004. Souquet was the champion in 2006, beating Archer in the final.
 
Congrats to Orcullo! Glad to see that the filipinos are back...

and congrats to Ralf as well!
