I don't recall ever before being so giddy with anticipation (while watching a pool match) as Shane came down the stretch of the last several racks in this event. I am delighted that this great champion has at last won an event that everyone will agree was a world championship.
Very similar, for me, to watching Mickelson walk up to the 18th the year he won The Masters after so many close calls...

I was just going to add that also. People would be amazed as to what some of the top fishing pros make, prize money, endorsements, and seminars. If it were just about the money, most top pool pros don't even come close

This was such a fabulous performance, and such a well deserved win! Finally world champion! Congrats, Shane!!
Something in me really felt like it was all supposed to happen for him ever since that phenomenal comeback against Mika on Friday. The pool gods were really on his side (chucking some golden breaks his way, for instance). I don't mean that to say he got it handed to him, he really played his heart out, got through a bunch of tough racks and did a lot of hard work so he really deserved it. I just mean, in a way it really felt like it was his year. And again, deservedly so!!

Best tournament I've ever watched in all the years I've been sweating professional pool events. The commentary, check. The snooker referees, check. The stage, check. The caliber of play, check. The winner, check!

Here's a couple screenshots from the celebration.

Was so happy after he won felt like I won lol he deserved it showed a lot of heart and great playing

yea, you could really follow the phases he went through, trying to get loose, talking to himself. cathartic, as someone wrote on here.

i don't think i have seen that in that way ever before (not counting snooker). an excellent production by the event promoter gave us a good view of this struggle towards the world title. also pool player podcast on youtube did a great job to complement this, with interviews and analysis.

I thought he was already a world champion.
Well if you accept a non sanctioned self declared World Championship by Charlie Williams, he is. Just like my World Championship in stickball where i crushed the opposition in my backyard in 1959.
