Yes Raj uses center to edge aiming. Hal Houle aiming method. Pro 1 as Stan calls it. The grail as Tom Simpson calls it. I call it the best one thing I have learned in pocket billiards. Thanks Hal!

I'm not so sure about that. I've been using CTE/Pro-One for sometime now and a few years ago I asked Raj on FB if he used CTE aiming as I heard a rumour of such. He said that he did but changed shafts which hurts his ability to use CTE so he gave up on the system. After rereading his response it was obvious to me that he was referring to something else entirely, more like some method for apply english as CTE/Pro-One has nothing to do with the deflection of your shaft.

Oh.......my head hurts already. Also congrats to SVB who doesn't.

But he does use a stick aiming method.

I have some video somewhere of Shane talking about how he aims and it is definitely stick based and what he uses to line up changes all the time based on the angle of the cut and crazy though it sounded initially it made alot of sense. Shane has a plan/method and he looks at the shot and lines it up and fires it. Some times he aims at the outside edge of the object ball other times the inside edge and the bottom of the ball and he uses the center and left and right sides of the cue stick he decides how to aim depending on the thickness of hit prior to getting down on the shot. Shane shoots real straight so his method is hard to argue with and is very effective on a bad day, deadly on a good day and unstoppable when the package express starts.

But back to this thread congrats to Raj for getting second place at the Turning Stone.

For me it's not whether SVB or anyone else uses a system(s). It's this silly cause and effect stuff that people associate to their success. It couldn't be his constant practice and work ethic?

Maybe the Euro's won the Mosconi cup because the USA team is collectively they are too tall.

I don't care how Raj aims.
But he played good enough in the final to beat almost anybody.

I don't care how he aims either.

I'll say this for a fact, if "all-knowing" martians came down and all they were able to find left of human civilization were a few CTE diagrams and their purpose (ie to pocket balls)..... they'd probably write us off as the most moronic civilization they have ever encountered.

Chillin'....that got a laugh out of me....that was good.:killingme:
The only thing I don't like about the post is that I don't disagree.....
...after all, I love disagreeing with you.:)

Yes he did,not taking anything from SVB, he is the best player for my money, but man did he get some crazy good rolls, with the way SVB plays plus a few rolls, how can anyone beat him,but RAJ was there to win and he gave it everything he had!

both played a nice tournament. But in my opinion Raj is still for sure a step behind the best 4-5 players atm. - he s just not constantly enough.
We shoudln t talk about the highest level a player could play- in that case every pro can beat everyone.

just my opinion.

Any A+ to open speed player can win at any time against a top class pro. With a few good rolls.
