Congratulations To Alex Pagulayan

PT, I'm happy for Brad. I watch him in person Frequently. He plays BCA once a week and the odd tournament.

He has a sweet stroke.

Well, Jason Klatt just put Brad Poorman to the B-side...no shame there.

Rob Phillips from Edmonton lost to Alex Pagulayan hill-hill. It was the best
match so far...Alex used all his fancy safeties and Rob just kept returning
the serve.
The Morra family is on the B-side.

The Lion is still flyin'.....
8-ball and 9-ball Canadian titles....
....snooker and 10-ball will be nerve wracking

I'd be very surprised if he did not win snooker against this field.
I'm trying to redeem my handicapping of the World Championship :D

I seriously hope Alex can do it. I believe he can.
It will be a record that will never be broken.

Just think of the focus and stamina it takes to go from one championship win to snooker a couple of hours later. Unbelievable.

Just shows what not drinking can do for your shooting. :D
Last year he was drinking and in the snooker final didn't lose a frame.

Tom Finstad and Floyd Zeigler are hurting...Kirk Stevens is rusty.
John White and Jeff White don't play enough.
If Alex doesn't win it, I would want Fern Loyer to be the champ....
..best player in the field who has never won it.

Cool to hear. I played Brad a few times in the late 90s, when he was clashing with Benny Onyschuk and Ernie Layman in the Number Seven 8-ball Challenge.

Nice guy, too, always wondered where he went.

He makes his home in Regina. Very quiet and well mannered.
He doesn't strut around with his chest puffed out. Not a cocky bone in his body so
I would say a very professional attitude.

You will never see his body language or demeanor give anything away if he happens to miss a shot.

A pretty decent snooker player as well.

I remember watching him in the finals of one tournament. He would call a low percentage shot and I'm thinking, What?. He makes them and gets great shape. When he gets going, he doesn't stop to chalk and when he does, its with what ever is on the table.
So much for Kamui chalk eh.

I agree with PT, if he keeps going to the Canadians, he will eventually come away with something under his belt.

Watched the stream, with Alex and brad. I've definitely seen him play better, the guy's a monster when he catches a gear. No shame in 4th, though, good job brad! Not bad for a guy that hardly plays.

I don't know if Brad has a table at home or they have a community table where he lives but I have heard it mentioned that he doesn't practice much anymore. He just runs what he brings at the time. You know what hear say is right.

He and his partner won the Scotch in Vegas and he also placed well in the other events that he entered. It was a good month for Brad.

Open Scotch in Vegas. Can you imagine what that took to win. His Scotch partner, Lisa McNab is no slouch either.

I'm just leaving to play a few with Brads cousin. It must run in the family, this guy keeps me on my toes as well.

Well, Kirk Stevens didn't make it out of the round robins....
...and neither did Fern Loyer, first time in 20 years

I see Fern Lost to Fabian, who I used to play in Saskatoon years ago. He was a good player then, and must still be, but I never thought him to be at Fern's level.

I think I remember watching Benny Onyschuk play 8 ball on TSN, not sure that the tournament was. That was the first time I had ever watched 8 ball on TV and I was just in awe of how good he was.

Did he ever play in the Canadians and is he still playing?

I think the tourney you saw on tv was the Canadian classics eightball championship....the Candian classic was a brand of cigarette :)

Benny is still playing, Still shoots good, not as good as he used to though.

There a still a bunch of shots Benny O makes, that make you wonder how!

Yesterday Alex played incredible... running rack after rack. He only missed a ball in the entire match ( a 8 ball on the last rack). I would like to see him playing snooker but I always miss his matches.
