I appreciate everyone bumping it for me, but I'd rather it be bumped for those that may not have seen this contest yet. :)

Btw, YOU are going to be giving ME $25. Want to bet another $25 on that? LOL

I wouldn't feel right "stealing" another $25 from you.

Want to know why it's stealing? I have an inside source who told me that Fatboy is one of the greatest players in the history of Monopoly. My source (an acquaintence's ex-fiancee's friend's brother's long distance cousin) said that Fatboy has never been defeated in Monopoly. :groucho:

Sorry to hijack your thread.

Back to topic, Where is Tara, Juan, Monica and everyone else from Texas? They need to post for a free shot at the US Open.

hhmmm.... so I'm being hustled? NICE. ;)

Tara and Monica will be playing in the OB Cues stop and should't play in the US Open Qualifier that same weekend. Juan on the other hand.... ?

Some people would rather pay $100 or $200 entry than to get on here and bare their soul with their pool ambition.

It's a great idea. Maybe if you were to let people mail in their story and then publish only the winners.........I don't know........I'm just thinking out loud here.

There has been some peoples with good stories!

Ray
(doesn't even deserve free entry to the weekly)IMO.......where is Smorg?:frown:

I would love to be part of your contest and I think what you are doing is awesome! I am surprised more people are not participating. I cannot participate because there is no way for me to get to either Texas or Florida.

I sure hope some more people step up and take advantage of this very generous offer.

BVal

I love pool. I play hard. Would love to get a chance just to go and participate in the Open.

And the number 1 reason.....

I get robbed by Joey Barnes no matter how/what we play. hahaha. There goes my entry.

My computor has been broke down so i just got back on line yesterday. Have been hearing about this from differant people. So here is what i have to offer.
I can"t remember the first time i played but pool has been apart of my life for sometime know. I started playing when i was about 15 when my parents bought my brother and sister and me a table. It was a piece of junk Sears table but we banged balls. That was the start of my pool playing. Along the way i started playing SWEL league which in time led to more and bigger tournaments. What i believe sets me apart from others is my dedication to pool over the years. I live in Oklahoma and drive to Dallas to play. Hour and half one way for over 15 years. I enjoy going to bigger tournaments so i can improve. I think my dedication to travel has paid off i am playing pretty good at this time. I won the last Clicks monthly tournament and recently made my first trip to the Texas Open. I won my first match 9-5 after being down 4-0 at the start of the match. I won my next match 9-1 and then Shane V. cooled me off. I have been playing good lately and would appreciate a paid entry into the tournament. Good luck to everyone. I look forward to seeing everyone at the qualifier in Dallas.

This post is not to ask for a free entry for myself, but rather for a good friend of mine who cannot otherwise afford to enter this tournament. His name is Mike.

---

Mike had a terrible childhood in an even worse town. His parents were separated early on, and he moved back and forth between both households. His mother was a drug addict, often leaving 5 year-old Mike home alone (!) to take care of his infant brother. He constantly had trouble in school, trouble at home, and otherwise just had a very tough time with life.

Nowadays, Mike lives with his alcoholic father, who was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple years back. His father accordingly has a hefty amount of medical bills that will probably never get paid off. Mike spends a lot of time just doing things around the house for his dad, and doesn't get to do much else.

Mike is a great kid who has a lot of pool talent. He doesn't have the means to get out to tournaments, and so just plays in local leagues from time to time. I've seen him do things on the pool table that I've never seen before or since. He has an unorthodox style, often stroking the cue towards the top edge of the cueball before suddenly adjusting and hitting a powerful draw shot. He plays by feel and experience, and when he hits a zone, he is unbeatable.

I would love to see Mike get into the US Open...after all, he and his father were the ones that introduced me to many of the finer points of pool. Heck, they taught me almost all I know about the game. I'm forever grateful to them. I don't expect anyone else to feel the same way, but I'm certain you would if you knew him like I do.

WooHoo -- we have a weiner----opps I mean a winner

:D just wanted to see if anyone is paying attention.

Doug, I love your story---it brings tears to my eyes

No, seriously I think you are deserving of the free entry--you have been tearing it up lately and you would represent Texas and Oklahoma well, except I don't think you can wear your baseball cap at the open...

Toodle-loo,
Zsa Zsa

I wish I could play in this event but me and all my other home girls will be playing in the OB Cues event at Rusty's in Arlington this same weekend. :yeah:

This is me if I get lucky and get in the money :happydance: If some of you dudes don't play in the U.S. Open qualifier event, come on out to Rusty's in Arlington and watch some of us girls do the happy dance :happydance: As a matter of fact, ask Tara to do the white girl dance-----she's better than Elaine on Seinfield :killingme:

Where would Mike be able to play?? Florida or Dallas?

Dallas is closer to us (central Illinois), but only by about an hour. I suppose either location is just fine.

As his family is pretty much broke, I would be asking for small gas money donations from friends and driving him to whichever location.

Chen not playing in the Click's Marsh US Open Qualifier

Come on out guys--get your chance at a free entry. I heard from the TD that Chen is not playing in this qualifier event because he already has a spot for the US Open. I heard he was going to play in the Flying Pig tournament. So come on out and show your stuff.

Where's J. Colling, C. Hodge, J.Garcia, J.Martinez, R.Lovelace,Mike N., Chase, Daniel, C. Anderson--come on you all--I know you got game, but I then again---do you really GOT GAME?

You must be ignoring my posts since I got 2 on you in masters league... Out of 9. Haha, just kidding.

You are missing a blast in Shreveport... We are officially living the high life. As in $2 32 oz high life's... Which happens to add to my argument that I need a free entry since I have to drink like a hobo!
