Conventional shafts

Advertising Laws ?? No, sorry, but paid endorsers don't need to use or even like the product they promote. Michael Jackson was a Pepsi endorsor years ago and he did not drink soft drinks.

Obvioulsy, it would not sit to well with a sponsor if they actually told them !!! But they are pool players afterall......

I assume it would fall under false advertisement. If Shane Van Boening wins the US Open with a Predator, Cuetec can't claim he won it with their cue even if he was supposed to be using their cue. I don't believe that Pepsi would claim Micheal Jackson couldn't sing or dance without drinking Pepsi.

if they're being offered enough cash i think they would.

Nah, they will use whatever they feel gives them the best chance to win. As hard as it is to make a living playing pool right now, I dont think they would sacrifice any performance edge for their "sponsor". If they win a lot, or perform well, then they will get their sponsors no matter what gear they use.

i can play with just about anything so i gotta believe they can too.

mezz and predator have been doing stuff together for years. they've even got a line of cues that only come with predator shafts

I was not aware that Predator and Mezz had a long standing relationship like that. Learn something new around here everyday

I remember seeing a video where she said her cue was a Predator cue made by Mezz, not a just a Mezz cue with a Predator shaft. I thought it was pretty cool that Jasmin was able to get the two companies to produce a cue for her so she could have the Predator sponsorship and not sacrifice the feel of the Mezz cue that she obviously loves.

The video I was remembering was actually one of the "what's in the case" videos. To get back on the topic of the OP, there is one of those videos with Efren and he uses a conventional shaft.

Ive never seen you play, and I dont doubt your ability at all Sam, but if I gave you an old beat up house cue with a shroomed out mushy tip, and it had a god awful taper, I dont believe you could truly show your skill with that cue. Now take your normal playing cue, and ill bet you would feel like you could do anything with it.

i'm with you on this partner, I can play good pool with anything....if all they got is one with a mushromed head and a warp then I'll chop off the sides with my pocket knife, mark the bend and run out.

Some cues look like Sh*t, some feel like sh*t, but especially today they all hit well enough to do basically what ever you need.

YEA Cuetek's cues in the 90's were not the best by any means, weak tolerances and it came with RHINO LINING....installed for FREE! Hot DAM every up and coming bar player gets one, they kinda picked up where Meucci left off and built some real cheap cues that played pretty sporty for a $100.

Earl won like what.......5 world championships with Cuetek?

he was using the real thing too, seen them hit balls with them and watched earl win matches with them.

Of course we each have our personal preferences but the fact is that any good player should not have a problem with most cues out there....if you play with a cue you get used to it given time.

Its only better playing or whatever when they define what "better" is....its all completely arbitrary, I've hit with $150 cues that hit the ball as good as any other made on the planet.

Finding the cue for you is like a connoisseur finding his favorite wine after tasting for 10yrs lol.....

most advice will lead you to a good enough cue that hits well, especially if its coming from this forum IMOP

She wasnt the reason why the cue was produced. The cues came out as a special edition Predator, which happened to be made by Mezz. I believe hers is a SE-XI...which would explain alot:wink:
