Converting furniture table to diamond playability

Most all GC'S, 1-2-3s are about 1193lbs, Diamond ProAm 1080lbs. The rail construction is what's really the difference between a home style table vs commercial table.

I have heard rumors in my home that if you wait long enough, you can get RKC to convert your home table to play closer to a diamond table...

But it might help if you live near his family. :D

i would rather see diamond tables play like gold crowns
until then i prefer gold crowns

At least for a week or so, sometimes for only a day....before the table you just bought....is for sale because you don't like how it plays anymore.....LMAO

Did you know you can have the Diamond Pro/AM made in any wood and finish you want? You can have it painted jet black, or have it clear coated maple, etc. That might go over better with the wife. You can also have it made without the "Diamond" logo routed on the end (to me it looks obnoxious). You can also two tone the woods, have the top made of one wood, the skirts make of another. There are custom versions like these scattered on AZ over the years. The Diamond website doesn't do the best job showing these custom options. Anyway, you get the idea. One of these or similar ideas might satisfy the wife.

PS, Is she going to make you use a red cloth????

Thanks, but I know all these things. She's seen most diamond pro am combinations, and it's not the color she doesn't like it's the block like frame. She prefers the wavy lines of furniture tables. Thanks tho!

The wifey can't get past the aesthetics. Could you make a good furniture Brunswick or olhausen play well tho?

Sure, I can build out any table ever built, the question is...is it worth it. No 7ft has ever had as strong as frame as a 9ft, that's one of the problems with manufacturers that build pool tables. Most 7fts only have a 3/4" thick slate, therefore the don't put that much build in the frame. The 7ft Diamond Professional is actually stronger built than the 9ft Professional is, it's what you would call an overkill. They do offer different woods, stains...and you can even ask that they 2 tone build the table, cuebuddy here on AZ has one like that.

That I do Glen! It still makes me smile everytime I walk into the room.

I don't remember Diamond ever putting out another 2 tone Professional.

There were two members her that had refinished their own tables and thats what gave me the idea. Solarje and Black cat were their on-line names. I sent Diamond the pics and they did the rest. Thats why my Diamond label is black and not red, Diamond did that for me so it accented the black on everything south of the rails.

Not true... the table i've shown uses 1" slate and the timber on the frame are the same size as on a 9 footer

Yah, usually everything that Blatt puts their stamp or even recommendation on is solid. I play on my buddies 7ft Blatt and it feels almost as solid as a diamond. Only problem is I know I will want to redo the rails and the pockets. Otherwise, great frame. Hopefully there are some good and reputable table mechanics near me in ny who can guide me through the rail options and do a bang up install.

I rebuilt a GC3 set of rails AFTER Blatt had already tried to rebuild them....talk about some shit work with their pocket work and tin nut plates screwed to the bottom of the rails that were bent, which caused the rails to have all different nose heights....and that was their SECOND set of rails on the same table.....yeah, I'd go with Blatt all day long....not!

Even if I were to consider the professional, I'd like to play on it first. Does anyone know of any professionals in the NYC area? Or does it just play exactly like the Pro-Am/Smart table?
