Just sharing a picture my wife took of me shaving off a ferrule I thought turned out well.

Hi,

Nice pic but where are your safety glasses? The camera reveals ferrule projectiles between the cutting area and your eyes. They need to be on your head every time no matter what. Don't forget a respirator mask when turning the wood.

Saftey first!!!

Nice catch Rick! I was so taken with the artful quality of the picture that I didn't even notice the lack of safety gear.

Thanks for the comments, and my wife is a professional photographer =D

And I know, I know, she caught a pic of me without my safety glasses, I was meaning to comment on that. Had a piece of ferrule get me in the eye once, and usually been good about wearing my glasses since. Do as i say not as I do lol.

And i usually work from that position because its my toolbox lathe and am just used to setting it up on the living room floor and working on cues.

Since I'm 47 I bought safety glasses that have little readers built into the bottom of them. You can find them in increments of .5 up to 3. They are perfect for lathe work.
