Corey Deuel with Meucci cues now

Corey hasn't done anything. We aren't ripping on him, we are discussing Meucci in general.
That purple heart wrapless cue is a "Woodpecker" cue. I don't know if they sponsored Corey or if he started the company, but now that he's with Meucci, it would seem odd if it were the latter.
Woodpecker was actually Corey's "cue company" but it was a run of contracted cues through Jacoby.
Corey owned the rights to all of them, and designed what was made, but all manufacturing was done by Jacoby.
Makes sense, since his last sponsor before OB, was Jacoby.
I'm going to assume, since he owns the rights to them, he may still be playing with his purple heart cue, just with a Meucci shaft. Even that would seem strange, since the shaft changes so much in a cue.
Somebody compared him to a whore. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't consider that a compliment.
I must have missed that. It certainly doesn't sound like it belongs in this conversation.
I believe but am not certain that until OB and Corey, Corey was playing with a 314 shaft for over a decade. He was not sponsored by Predator so he would remove the logo from the shaft.
Am i the only one that likes the look of Coreys new Meucci cue?

I'm really sorry for saying this, but damn... Corey's new Meucci is pretty ugly. Just my opinion. I know that things are different when a business opportunity is involved, and his Jacoby line of cues didn't look half bad. I guess I just couldn't put my name on such a poorly designed cue.
Maybe it plays like a dream or Bob is offering big money to sponsor him, but holy moley. Yikes...
P.S.- this is more a comment toward Meucci than Corey. Bob has been very innovative in the cue building world, and has made a few good looking cues in the past. I guess I'm just overly critical, but most Meucci's I see don't really do it for me.

P.P.P.S.- On second though, maybe Meucci will make a comeback in the market??? Who knows? Might be interesting to see more new meucci cues out there. I certainly wouldn't mind trying one.

Considering your avatar and sig line show you love Meucci's, I would say it's just you.
IMO, that white/blue 21st century Meucci is one of the ugliest cues I've ever seen. My friend owned/played with one for 5-6 years, before selling it. I'm surprised it actually held its value, but damn was that an ugly cue.
I like the design, but as for you liking it, someone with a picture of a bunch of Meucci cues as his avatar may not be the most impartial person LOL We'll need a third opinion
If the ring through the inlays was removed it would be a much better look. I still don't think it's that bad even with them, but not what I'd pick for sure.
I'd like it more without those big diamonds, or extra rings in the middle of the handle.
Black, rings, wood handle and the diamond inlays in the handle would be my pick for the design. Then second would be adding those larger diamonds but nothing going through them.
They go wherever they can get backing.
And didn't he use "5280 Cues" for a while? I don't remember who made those.

Jayson went to Meucci because Bob offered him a line a cues, not just a single model like Lucasi.
The brown and green cue with the Pro shaft that he uses was initially supposed to be a loaner until his own cue was made. It's no looker, but he let me try it out once and it hits sweet.
He had another cue that Bob had completed for him, and he asked me to test it out. He liked the look but it was ridiculously light and mis-balanced, which I told him. I got the feeling that he was trying to convince himself on the new cue, but even he wasn't buying it.
He's been playing with the brown/green one since last summer. Prior to that cue he hadn't won a single major tournament; soon after switching he snapped off the first of his Turning Stone events. He's been on a tear ever since.
I'm not saying it's all about the cue, but he obviously feels connected with that one. So much so that it seems that at the start of any tournament that he enters nowadays, you might as well just write his name in the hotseat.
Calling this a silly thread is insulting as hell. Low end players will play any cue if paid enough. Corey is not in that group. He would drop Meucci in less time than it takes to pot a six inch shot. Why do you have to be so rude. Is it because you can say things like that because no one know who you are? You could have just skipped this thread or replied you don’t agree. By saying it’s a silly thread just makes less people will post their views, which is why we all come here. Be nice in your posts and people will respect you more.
