I don't know what shot I would shoot there...too many factors that really need to be taken into account in the moment, like how dry/slick the table is, how well english is taking off the rail on the particular table I'm playing on, etc. I like the high inside english option the most...if the spin is taking well off the cushions. A lot of times under those conditions (lights, hot table, new cloth), it does not. if that were the case for Corey, he might have considered any option that relies on the english taking off the cushions too risky.
If I didn't feel threatened by my opponent, I might just shoot that shot if the conditions favored it. Nowadays though, I would most certainly look for the easiest option.
I actually did shoot a very similar shot in a tournament when I was younger. I could be such a jerk back then. I looked at the guy and said, "You're taking notes, right?" Hit the shot perfectly and ran out, lol. I knew the guy I was playing but it was still a jerk move.
