I know that Ebony and other exotic wood forearms are sometimes cored for stability and weight. My question is do you ever core Maple forearms and use a wood such as Purple Heart as the core for the purpose of adding extra front end weight?
Would a Purple Heart core in a Maple forearm change the hit to a harder hit such as an Ebony or Cocobolo forearm?
I ask these questions because I tend to like the appearance of Maple forearm cues over the other woods, but I do like the solid hit and sound of the other woods.
Thank you
