cornerstone custom robbed!

Hello Bill.
Didn't you just start a thread about a bad deal with a certain customer? If my memory serves me correctly, you did. I guess my point is, that I'm wondering if there isn't some correlation between the timing of these particular events. I hope there isn't, but it might be a good place to start. JMHO. Good luck, and my thoughts are with you.
Regards.

I would definitely start by figuring out if there was anyone, and I mean anyone/everyone, who I was having troublesome deals with, and start there. It seems these people went for things that would have some chance of moving. Best of luck with your recovery.

Hey Bill,
This is what I propose. I can set you up with a website up with an image gallery (I started doing this for Doug) where all the stolen property will be available. I can set this up tomorrow if you wish, as long as you tell me what cues have been stolen and I will figure some of them out from your website. I will do this for you my friend, even if I have to work my butt off this weekend on this. We can put a link from your website to the image gallery of stolen cues.
I will call you tomorrow on this. PM me or call me on this 209-482-7768

You do this and I will put a link on my front page alerting everyone to this issue and pointing to the page.

Let this be our version of an Amber Alert. Every single one of us who deals in this industry has a responsibility to protect our own.

Every one of us who has a website needs to be informing others. These cues need to be so hot that they only recourse is to give them back.

Bill, this needs to start with an inventory of what is gone. I know you are sick right now and surely working on it but time is of the essence here. I really believe that if we act as a community, we map out how far the cues could go and how they would get transported, what the likely outlets are then we as a community can stop this.

We as a community have to let the world know that if you steal a cue then there isn't going to be an outlet for it.

my insurance would not cover because they are speciality items and we were being refered to loyds of london.and were working on coverage . wewer just compiling a list to get a quote!!

That really blows. I suggest a new insurance agency. My State Farm was the best. Of course I didn't try and insure $400,000 worth of cues but I had over $100,000 in cases insured against damage or theft. Luckily I never had to use it beyond the one time for $3500 worth of cues but I was pretty confident that they would have covered me if someone had cleaned me out.

This reminds me of the string of robberies of billiard supply stores a few years ago. Anyone remember that - when stores like Showcase in Denver were being hit around the country? I think that they caught the people who were behind it.

Good luck Bill. My prayers are with you and yours as well.

We will pray for you, we also hope the people who took this cues will be caught in a short time, just gice uus some info on the cues, i the the billiard community will be at watch

Wow this blows. I am with Iowa Player on this one stick them in prison with bubba!!!!!! I cant belive people think they can rip of one of a kind cues with the intention of moving them. It almost sounds to me like they were done on contract with a person already waiting for them. If that is the case good luck ever seeing them again as they will probably go in a private collection somewhere and never see the light of day in out lifetime :(. Other than that all I can say is watch Ebay and the pawn shops.

Bill,
As you are my buddy, confidant and one of my mentors, I am devastated to hear of this tragedy. I will offer you all of my cues "I got them from you anyway" to start your new inventory. I am sure all of your friends "which you have so many here" will help and pray for the safe return of your items. I am here for you in anyway.
Peace brother,
Lu

You might want to contact Lucky as well. I wouldn't be suprised if someone tried to move these out of the country.

Cues on this level are going to raise suspicion almost anywhere in the US.

Also, everyone who is reading this should put an ad on craigslist in their area that they buy pool cues. I thought I saw this on one of the earlier stolen cue threads that the thief e-mailed such a listing, trying to sell the stolen cues.

E-bay is out for him. Unless he does have someone already lined up like has been mentioned on here, he will be looking for someone to buy them. Let's make it easy for him so to do, and make it one of us so we can turn him in. Hopefully, he does not read this forum and will not realize we are trying to catch him. I'm in southwest Ohio. Looks like Michiganders need to post "I buy pool cues" listings, since that is where they were stolen from.

the truth of the matter is nobody steals pool cues unless they know what they're worth. meaning that the guy that stole them probably plays pool and knows what he took. since he knows what they're worth he probably knows he can sit on the for a few years before trying to sell them. just about the only thing working in your favor is that there aren't that many people in the world that'll buy a $500+ cue that aren't going to hear about this.

i know a hundred cues is a lot but if you post a list of what was stolen people'll know what to keep an eye out for if someone shows up at the pool hall selling cues

list and short description?

Bill I hope the COPS do their Job, and catch the burglars, also it would help to get some REWARD FLIERS Printed, and GET them in the Hands of EVER Pool Player within 100-200 miles of you location, as I am sure someone will hear something, and a REWARD is a GREAT MOTIVATOR.

hi bill...

it is so sad to hear such awful news.

such a betrayal of human decency by [a] thug/s really deeply disturbs me.

i know i can be pretty foolish and pretty often, but i think my alternative way of looking at this might have some value and maybe helpful [i hope]...

you and yours are healthy! and, after that - everything else is secondary.

i prayed that what is yours is returned to you as it should be,
smokey
