Could a knowledgeable GTF case person clear this up please? JB Cases-Mike??

First off let me apologize for posting this in the Gallery section but I know that this is where the most knowledge of these cases lies and I just want to get this straight from people who actually know what they're talking about.

I sold user "Batalarms" a GTF 1x2 case a couple months back and had to tell him repeatedly that the white mark on the inside of the lid was put there by the manufacturer.

Today I get this offensive PM from him calling me a liar and whatnot…

He's upset that another GTF case that I'm selling doesn't have the white mark. I told him once before that they probably don't mark all the ones with locks because it's obvious but I'm also sure they probably mark the cases before they put the locks on too so some of them probably have locks and white marks to show the back.

I have been a member here for years and have bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of items and it really gets on my nerves that this guy is calling me a liar and thinks I would risk my reputation on a $200 case.

Could anyone that has experience with these cases and knows what they are talking about please tell this guy that the white mark on the back of the lid is NOT a defect!?

I even gave him a link to the YouTube video where John Barton shows you the white mark and he's still not convinced and calling me a liar!!!!

I apologize if this is difficult to read but I'm a little plssed right now.

this sounds like 2 good people with a problem

i suggest a mediator get involved before tempers create a big problem
where a simple solution is possible today

just someone to mediate that is trusted by all

please fellas,life is short
surely this can be settled without too much trouble

That's all I'm asking.. I just want someone like John Barton who actually made the case to chime in.

There's is absolutely no way in hell I would lie about something like this and compromise my reputation and integrity over a $200 freaking case!

I don't know how anyone could look at it and think its defective... Seriously.

I too have the mark on my GTF case. Of course the lock should be a given. Also I see the seem on my case. Pretty straight forward......

I've been going through my GTF cases.. I looked at about 20 of them so far and they all have that chip inside. I never noticed myself till now.
Best,
Ken

i havent read all the posts:embarrassed2:
and im not part of the clan:embarrassed2:
for someone who has dealt with "thousands of dollars" worth of transactions
take the case back
$200 isnt worth the time/aggravation/possible negativity to your reputation
and under your breath tell the guy to go f@@k himself:eek:

Like I said it was a couple months ago and the guy has already had it for sale on Ebay for more than I sold it to him for.

I wouldn't take it back at this point anyway.. Not months later after he left me a positive Itrader and the deal is done and over with. And especially after this guy call me a liar and is a complete jerk about it.

Also it was "tens of thousands", not "thousands". ;)

Bata alarms, you owe him a huge apology. I do understand you may be mistaking what they are calling a mark for what really is a chip. I have 6 of them and they are all the same.

Sounds like one good person and one short on common sense.

I own several GTF cases with the lock and they all have that characteristic.

There's always one in every crowd...or so the saying goes.

Not that you need more people to report, but you got my curiosity up, so I checked several of my GTF cases, and all have the white mark, on cases with a latch. Several...

I thought the white mark, including the fact that it is a "chip" was a well established fact already.

Obviously this thread reinforces that fact.

Now, I admit I have made a study of cases for some time as a personal project, so perhaps it would be more prominent to me. But I really think the buyer failed to find what should be fairly easy to uncover information that borders on common knowledge among anybody ho knows these cases well.

The buyer is a screw up, to be kind.

Right on, you are too kind.

Honestly I would contact Roy @ IndyQ, as he is the guy who distribute the GTF Case in the USA, and the Second GTF Expert.

I bought this case directly from Roy to begin with.

I think I have enough support and feedback anyway.

Pretty sure hearing it directly from the maker (John Barton) makes it case-closed. (pun intended?)
