Could this be true !!!

I was reading an article by the "Monk" inwhich he says his top female student who played a lot in New England area was a 100 ball runner, but most hard to believe was she ran 80 or 90 balls without contacting a rail with the cue ball. I have a high run of 95/80 and countless 40/50s so its not envy that inspires this letter but instead how valid this could be. What are some of your thoughts.

According to the video that I watched, she certainly did. Unless the video was doctored, Susan Bosselman(spelling) did just that. I believe this to be true. I have watched her play many times.

I met Susan at the BCA Nationals, which she promply won. Maybe Tim Miller's best ever student.

Susan quit pool and went on to college and graduated with honors....SPF-randyg

I'm sure the video wasn't doctored. If you have witnessed this accomplishment on video, then I accept that it happened.

Extremely impressive and even more surprising, in view of the fact that so few women have ever run 100.

Nice shooting, Susan.

I have a name in mind

Yes, it is entirely possible to be true.

I will ask her next time I see her.;)

I challenge

I'd like to see all the current straight pool players TRY to do this, and see what records can be set.

Far as i'm concerned, unless she hit the break shot like Mary Poppins, it is all but impossible.

If the video proves otherwise, i will MAYBE believe it more, but i will still believe there was a conspiracy theory. You have WORLD CHAMPION straight pool players who NEED the rails to run that many balls.

I just Too hard to fathom.

Straight pool players, TRY IT OUT!

I was thinking the same. To never hit a rail, even on the shots that open racks and small clusters, sounds pretty difficult to do.

Its true i have seen the video also and i belive after only being trainned and playing for 1 year she won the womans world champs and domminated the womens tour then went on too go too college.this book was also said to be what tim the monk miller based his book on I CAME TO WIN and inspired it.im in the monk masters home study course and we do 7racks of the no rail exercise every session and many have had no miss before.myself i have done 76 with no rail.

also the video is lajit as they come un edited, shes done more than once too i might add!also another student of his that was a chick did 100 perfct stop shots!thtats discpline for you,and won the bca also

One of my practice exercises is to throw 15 balls up with no balls touching the rails and no clusters and I have to run all 15 without the cb touching a rail. Is this how she does it? I find it very difficult to believe that she racked the balls after every run and still didn't touch the rail with the cb. Breaking the rack up 6 times without having balls on the rail is pretty tough to do.

That is what I was thinking too. She probably did the 15 ball drill as you described it several times in a row, without touching a rail. Trying to do that in straight pool, I think, would be nearly, if not entirely, impossible.

Was she just spreading the balls open 6 times, and not actually shooting break shots? The difficulty with the break shots is not so much disturbing the pack without hitting a rail, but in NOT knocking balls to lie on the rail after doing so.

I watched her several years ago playing in the BCA. She played very sporty. It's too bad that she quit playing pool. I'm sure it was the right decision but to completely quit after devoting so much time and energy seems a shame.

matt...You don't have your facts straight. Suzanne Bosselman won the women's division of the BCA amateur national tournament. She did NOT win the BCA pro event, did not win any "world championship", nor did she play on the WPBA, let alone "dominate the women's tour". Nonetheless, she is a great player...just not what you described. Although training with Tim no doubt helped her, she was already a great player, and it should not be implied that training with ANY instructor is the only path to championship play...although it can certainly help, if the knowledge gained is applied properly. IMO, she showed great intelligence in realizing that college held much more promise than pool.

15 ball drill maybe

But straight Pool by the rules.....No way. If straight Pool was played, my question would be, what did she do with all the balls that were on a rail to begin with? And if I get to position all 15 balls on the table, I can run them without hitting a rail too, but to randomly just let them roll out on a table, I doubt whether I could.

And although it, I suppose, nice to set a Pool-trivia-finesse-Fast-Larry-type of record, I fail to see the true purpose of it It is about as relevant as running 90 balls and always hitting 1 rail after the shot for shape on the next shot. The important thing is to know all the options on shooting a shot, and
which one is the best way for continuuing the run.

i'd like to see her run this kind of rack from a break of her choice,,,,, just ONCE! should be no problem if she did this with 6 consecutive racks.
